Also I noticed that when booting from 2.6.28-11 , fglrx 8.60 fails. I was not able to get the dmesg output since the system crashed when I tried to change the run level. anyway couldn't find the appropriate(fail) messages in /var/log/messages as well. Let me know if that helps too. I'll try more.
