as of this morning's updates, a login sound can be heard (which sounds
like Windows by the way, it's awful).
But still no sound on logout.
Furthermore, the sound cannot be previewed anymore in gnome-sound-properties.
There is also an error while testing the sound server in the devices tab.

I definitely experienced this bug with my laptop in Gutsy. Some people may
have had this problem in Feisty as well.
The bug is also *technically* present in Windows...except Windows is too

I'm using Kubuntu 8.04. I burn DVDs with k3b and use remastersys.
When installing genisoimage_1.1.6-1ubuntu3_i386.deb, windows is able to see
DVDs that I have burned but remastersys no longer works.

Situation has changed a little, hibernate still works well if laptop has not
been previously suspended.
I just found out that is actually the suspend and resume procedure that even if
works breaks something.
Synthesis cause is getting messy:
- I can hibernate ( suspend to disk) and resume many
ogg and mp3 do not play anymore.
in totem mp3 gives the following error:
failed to connect to stream: invalid argument
ogg gives no error but does not play.

FWIW, the openchrome driver included in Hardy works OK with on the
Mininote.
Note, I normally don't use that and instead use the VIA proprietary
drivers. Unfortunately, those are locked to one kernel version so have

I experienced the same thing without a docking station on current
Intrepid. I think it's related to having changed screen size, though,
as I did connect an external VGA projector recently. In doing so, I ran
xrandr --auto to detect the projector size (which is smaller than my
screen), then after

gets it working properly again.
