I have spotty WiFi reception around the house, and I've noticed that
once I roam to a 2.4GHz because I've moved out of range, coming back I'm
stuck at it with very low signal despite there being much more powerful
and faster BSSIDs around.

Yes I mean that all sound does go out the internal speakers, but volume
controls the HDMI sink (and the "Output device" is set to it). So yeah

I've recently installed eoan and have this problem since:
- I have an external display connected over DisplayPort
- every boot / wakeup, both volume control and "Output device" switches to
"HDMI / DisplayPort"
- playback continues to work fine through internal speakers, but
I've had this happen a number of times again on a fresh 19.10 install,
with no extra extensions enabled.
It seems to happen when an app isn't responding for a handful of seconds
and trying to switch between apps via Alt+Tab or between workspaces. A

I just had it locked up a number of times with all the extensions

I just had a similar problem trying to call a confined app from a
classic one in Python:
subprocess.run("command", stdin=open("/file/path", "rb"))
The way around it is either reading the file into memory and feeding it in:
subprocess.run("command", input=open("/file/path", "rb").read())

Can you confirm whether this was when you had Multipass instances
running (multipass list), or just when Multipass is installed?
Multipass just manages qemu/kvm VM - the same bug is likely to be caused
by libvirt or a manually started qemu VM. In essence, this would be a
bug in KVM
Seems fine now:
$ lsb_release -sd

$ apt-cache depends devscripts | grep equivs

Yup, looks like it. Downgrading made it unstable, upgrading stable
again. I wonder how was `bluetoothctl` affected? Probably the GNOME menu
still interacted with bluez even if the commands were invoked on
`bluetoothctl`?

they are actually not co-installable so it's not as minor a problem as
you state, but it's certainly fixable.
