@pat-mcgowan, thanks for the syslog. SIM files indicate that there is
pending voicemail, which seems wrong. I need to get more traces to see
what is going on. Please download this ofonod binary:
https://chinstrap.canonical.com/~abeato/ofono/ofonod
and do
adb push ofonod /tmp/

What device?
Can you provide the full image details from the command 'system-image-
cli -i'?
When you say no reception, are you referring to voice and data, or just
data?
Also, can you please clarify your description. Did you really mean
after one or two hours of no reception? If so,
I put the SIM card in my nexus 4 to perform the experiment above The
logs are attached.
After this the message no longer shows up at boot. I pt the SIM back in
the MX4 and similarly the notification no longer appears.

We don't use the problem tracker in github. Could you please close it
out? Also, your sample command-line has instructed ofono to *not* load
the rildev plugin, which we use to determine which ofono modem device
plugin to load, so this will definitely cause issues on krillin, vegata,

Regarding comment #18... Yes, loosening the restriction when there's no
SIM(s) or there are PIN/PUK locked SIM(s) in the phone makes sense,
