Hello! We have made a pretty big change in snapcraft 2.30 that affects all the commands and every message of the user interface. So, we need a lot of help to test this before promoting it to stable. If you have some free time, please help us.
For those who haven't heard of this before, snapcraft is the tool to package software as snaps. Snaps are the new format we are proposing to solve many of the problems that we have had with debs over 10 years of developing Ubuntu. You can get snapcraft 2.30 running: $ sudo snap install snapcraft --beta If you haven't used snapcraft before, this is a great tutorial to get started: https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/create-first-snap#0 As I said, we need to test all the commands. So try to build a snap, push it to the store, edit it, build it again, run random commands, try to break it. The rest of the tutorials will help you discovering snapcraft features, which you can use to guide your testing. The team is available at https://rocket.ubuntu.com/channel/snapcraft , please let us know there if you want to start a testing session. And you can check the progress of this release at https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/in-progress-snapcraft-2-30/347 Everybody can help. If you don't know how to start, just jump into rocket and talk to us. I hope to see many of you helping to shape the future of Ubuntu.
