There certainly appears to be a problem with the Hardy CIFS/SMBFS
implementation. For me it has broken a wine application that used
smbfs/cifs to access a remote set of files.
We use an old Windows based account packages (TAS Books). Works fine and
runs under Linux/wine, so no real need to

I have tested this bug against PHP's snapshot php5.2-200805020830. I
can reproduce it on i386 using the version listed in this comment. I
have logged a bug with PHP.

I can reproduce this by performing an action that cups needs a username
and password for. An easy way to produce the is to adjust all the
'Require user' directives to point to a non-existant user, then go to
http://localhost:631/ and try to change/save the configuration file.

that it aborts the application when /var/lib/samba/secrets.tdb is
inaccessible, but /var/lib/samba/secrets.tdb and
/var/lib/samba/passdb.tdb need to be handled in the apparmor

The problem was fixed in 2.1.22-0~pre04 in Debian, and all versions
after Dapper are okay.

I have exaxctly the same problems. Due to this, my Ubuntu computer has
started to be a nuisance, especially because downgrading back to 7.* is
impossible, and gvfs cannot be disabled without removing Nautilus and
the Ubuntu desktop. What a pain is hardy !
My configuration: 1 Ubuntu hardy destop,
Updated apparmor package accepted into hardy-proposed. Thomas, can you
