If I try launch a manual update,

kvm-0.12.4.tar.gz, the current Lucid vgabios regresses support for a
number of vga modes (e.g. 1920x1200).

Why on earth do you have log files on a ram disk? if something goes bad
and you get a reboot, you loose the logs.
Now, if you really want them on the ram disk, script up so that the
needed directories will be created. This isn't a bug, it's a design
issue. IIRC Apache also won't start if you
just tested on 8.04 and 10.04, both with ufw enabled, and it works fine.
Please detail your setup. Can it be ntp.conf has some new and
interesting parts?

Storing logs on a tmpfs is a common practise on netboks with a SSD hd.
I think some kind of wrapper could be used to recreate that directory on the fly

Confirming this affects a Hardy LTS ? Lucid LTS upgrade.
The symptoms are that after the upgrade IMAP4 clients cannot connect to
the server, but there are few clues.
After sorting out the other issues caused by the upgrade such as
pointing dovecot to the /etc/ssl/certs/$CERT.{pem,key} I hit this

Interesting. I just installed a fresh Ubuntu 10.04 server and the
tomcat_* plugins do not work and I suspect I have to manually install
the missing package. Appears to have been fixed does not sound right
to me.
