I just did a double Ubuntu upgraded 14.04-14.10-15.04, which sent me
from mysql server 5.5.43 to 5.6.24.
Now if I run service mysql start it hangs and the mysql log shows
150516 09:47:00 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/
mysql
There is a potential workaround for this issue. Try the following
steps:
sudo apt-get remove nginx
sudo apt-get install nginx-common nginx-full
If it still fails attach the terminal and command output to the bug.

It's impossible to install, upgrade, or even remove mysql 5.6 from my
system. At this point, also blocking other package removals.
apt-get install -f won't repair this broken package either.
