The logs confirm the failure in the post installation phase, but do not have
enough information about the cause:
invoke-rc.d: initscript smbd, action "start" failed.

Confirmed, and it's still a problem in git upstream even. Looks like not
many people use this script, or maybe a more recent perl is enforcing
something that it wasn't before.
