I don't agree that this is not a bug; as Michael pointed out there are
log file processors like fail2ban which can't tell the difference
between an auth failure from this and an auth failure from a guess.

out in your configuration? Also, is your local_enable= variable set?
The security advisory only addresses disclosure of valid users and does
not allow password-less logins. I am sure a patched security update

and therefor a new bug report should be made and this ticket closed as
this description states falsely that causes the system to skip asking

I created the init script first before I ran into this problem
The reason being was 1) to minimize modification of system files and 2) to be
able to shutdown guests on non-upstart versions of Linux. and 3) to enable
stopping all guests manually without
Ok I create a pre-stop script in /etc/init/libvirt-bin.conf
and it is running the script however its not waiting for the script to
complete.Everything shutsdown extremely fast in about 3 seconds and I am
back to the BIOS screen.
So the it starts shutting down the guest os but the host
Ok so I came up with a workaround that seems to be working for me. The
guests shutdown completely. Not sure what this breaks if anything.
There still needs to be a permanent fix for this bug but here is what I
did.

Edit /etc/init/libvirt-bin.conf
I added this under the pre-start script
So does this mean that KVM is not properly supported on Ubuntu 10.04

The program that created the disk image seems confused, but it worked for
creating a VM for FC11.
Windows install seems to run fine, until wanting to boot from the drive it
created.
I don't know what creates the drive image and geometry, but it is broken.

interface-mtu kills my network connection
now when iam doing a sync between our remote sites with
exactually the same setup instead of 10 sites taking 20 minutes to be
checked this is now taking over an hour using rsync.

Performing a fresh install. I installed from a CD containing XP SP2, then
applied SP3, then applied all updates via Windows Update.
Then I installed Microsoft Security Essentials - the free anti-virus from
