Whoops, too soon: when I looked at the changelog, I forgot that this is still Chuck's version of munin-node[0] that is installed on my system. So no, the bug is still present in hardy/8.04 and it would be most helpful if someone was able to upload Chuck's version[1] to the official archives. Later
