I tried it with a simplified test case with just DELETEing a lot of data
from the table with 1.5mil rows.
The DELETE command took like a minute and a half to return. After it returned,
I immediately did 'stop mysql' and saw the KILL message in the daemon.log after
~5 seconds.

It seems to me the boot time after the reboot is related to the uptime
somehow... I'm up to 60second "freeze" now on one VM running a 10.04 64bit
guest with 3 CPUs. The kernel loads, then there's 60 seconds silence, when
nothing happens, and then it continues to boot.

+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 , and a Lucid 64bit guest with kernel 2.6.32-26. Host

I've managed to reproduce the crash 3 consecutive times, like this:
- installed dnsmasq on the host (ubuntu 10.04 64bit), and started it
like this:

/etc/dnsmasq.d,.dpkg-dist,.dpkg-old,.dpkg-new --dhcp-

I can confirm the segfault with the same Fedora 1 install. It doesn't
even get to 50%, it segfaults way earlier. In fact I tried this:

I've tested the package from -proposed according to the test case and it
seems to work. Below some details.

libclamav6 from -main. Redid the test on Maverick (both i386 and x86_64)
and the package from -proposed is working OK. The fix works in Maverick.

I'm not sure freshclam was ment to be run by a normal user. There's a
freshclam daemon, which runs in the background as 'clamav' user, and it
takes care of updating the database. If you run it as a normal user, it
won't have permissions to open the logfiles, to open the database
directory, etc.

It looks like the clamav user was not removed when you purged the old
clamav packages, and then when you tried installing the new packages,
clamav-base postinst script tried to create 'clamav' user, which was
already present so the script exited, and that left the package
unconfigured.
Setting up
Seems like you may have some bigger problem, with all the dpkg warnings
before the clamav script error.

If you look in DpkgTerminalLog.txt there are a lot of other things gone
wrong as far as I can tell, a lot of other packages gave errors.
Could you try editing /var/lib/dpkg/info/clamav-base.postinst file,
adding the following line before the "set -e" line:
set -x
then runnning "apt-get -f instal
I tried scanning /sys, and it gave me the same messages, but I don't
think it's a bug per se. It's more likely because /sys is a 'virtual'
directory, and it has a lot of special files, clamscan gets confused
while scanning it. If you run 'top', you'll see that clamscan is indeed

upgrading from 1ubuntu2 to 2ubuntu1 (from RC to release). After that

the image files in one place, the base images AND the overlays. I, for
example, have /path/to/images_dir/masters for the base images, and
/path/to/images_dir for the overlays.

Not sure if I did the tests right, but here it is. I did the following:
- installed the stock amavisd-new on Intrepid, sent a test mail, and got a
bounce back to the sender.
- removed amavisd-new with purge
- enabled intrepid-proposed, installed amavisd-new from there, checked the
conf, the two
I'm not sure what you were trying to do exactly. As far as I can tell
for the dkpg logs, you removed postfix twice, then you reinstalled it,
and at the last reinstall it wouldn't start. Did you change anything in
/etc/postfix ? Is that directory even there? Did you remove the
directory after uninst
Can you be more specific on this? Do you have snmpd running on all 35
servers, and it hangs on all of them ? When it hangs, do you have to
kill the process? Does it use up CPU?
