What I was trying to say was that as postfix depends on lsb-base, my parents will be getting this prompt when they run an update. It's not a user friendly question, so inexperienced user will do one of 2 things: 1: Get scared and decide the safest thing is to click Cancel 2: Just keep clicking Ne

This happened to me too. Postfix is listed as a new install in Update Manager. When I started installing the updates the configuration dialog popped up asking about "General type of mail configuration". I wasn't sure why postfix was needed so I pressed cancel and the script didn't handle that. lsb
