Having the same problem here on 11.10 on 11.04 I did not have this issue. But after doing a fresh install of 11.10 and installing rabbitmq I can not shutdown the PC normally. It always returns to the lightdm inlog screen and from there, there is no way to shutdown even with command line shutdown
