Right, which is why I asked the follow-up question. It's not worth
belaboring the point overly if it's only relevant for Lucid.

Title:
No security release provided for CVE-2013-356
Public bug reported:
Lucid's version of puppet is listed as "ignored (reached end-of-life)"
on the CVE tracking page for CVE-2013-3567 [1]. However, Ubuntu Lucid
has not reached end-of-life for the server release -- indeed, `apt-cache
show puppet` shows "Supported: 5y". The Ubuntu wiki[2] states
This bug also affects us. but only on 10.04, not on a similar machine
with 12.04.
This is a very severe issue for us, as we are running a booking
platform, and wrong time offsets cause erroneous bookings.

I just wanted to bump this issue because we're now experiencing it in an
automated deployment system, and it's been open almost a year and half
with no resolution.

Note that upgrades from Lucid to Precise can trigger this bug as the

Robie,
No problem - I'm just glad I wasn't imagining it.
I agree the 100% CPU problem can't be reproduced on precise.
To be honest I don't quite understand why /var/cache/bind isn't in
/var/run (given it's a cache) but I may be wrong about that.

To follow this up, the .deb at least on Lucid does NOT have the write
