Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Confirmed. I can reproduce on 5.5.3+dfsg-1ubuntu2 using the test case in bug 1069529. Assuming this was inadvertent and not intentional, we can add a dep8 test to catch future regressions together with any fix.
