I got this same error on Ubuntu 14.04:

I fixed this by downloading the latest source version (at time of
writing, 3.1.0) from https://www.joedog.org/siege-home/ and installing
it using the instructions in the INSTALL file.

I have the same issue and the same issue was found in Fredora. See bugg:

The issue is fixed and I have tested the fix by compiling my own patch.
This worked even for ubuntu 14.04. Maybe ubuntu team can pach and send
the patch upstream?
