Public bug reported: I am trying to extend the SNMP agent using pass_persist, but when trying to SET a value of type string the operation fails.
This problem is seems to be the same that is already reported in upstream (http://sourceforge.net/p/net-snmp/bugs/2442/). There is a patch that fixed this issue there, but it appears that patch is not applied in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I downloaded the package source code with "apt-get source snmpd" and I could confirm that the patch is not applied (assuming the version downloaded by apt-get source is the same that apt-get installs).
