gone EOL and src:mysql-5.6 has been replaced src:mysql-5.7 in 16.04. Are
you able to reproduce this with a current release and packages.

putty is used for text input. Please find the keyboard and/or character set
configuration (as a screenshot).
Utf-8 is used as an input encoding on Ubuntu side.
