I don't see what your link has to do with the idea of providing example
configuration files with the installation. Or did you just want to say
that the information is somewhere?

I don't think that providing the example configuration files would obviate
the need to use the documentation.
No one ever said anything pointing in that direction!
If you use the documentation, then you don't need the sample files.
