I fixed it. The argc value was not tested before accessing argv[] values.
There was a if (argc 3) mount_cifs_usage() fix.

and the smbmount and mount.cifs command still give me a
Segmentation fault
i have the same problem as normal user and as root.
$ mount.cifs
Segmentation fault
$ smbmount
Segmentation fault
# smbmount
Segmentation fault
# mount.cifs
Segmentation fault
