Nope.
Curiously, the problem hasn't recurred in a few days. I'm crossing my

Thank you! I suppose a search for "debugging samba" should have
occurred to me, but that is what I was looking for. As I said, "I can't
even tell where to look for errors." So ...
* This is a client issue.
* This worked in a previous release;
* Output of
dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} ${Version}
