The dhcp client in Karmic Alpha is not connecting automatically.  This
includes both when the machine starts up before the network switch as
well as after hot plugging the ethernet cable.

The expected behavior is like in kde3.5, when the line becomes active
again, the network profile settings are tried again automatically.

What is happening is that the network stays inactive until dhclient is
run manually.

There are two ways to get that.  One is to move the ethernet cable to
another subnet (on another switch).  Another way is when the switch or
adsl modem is turned on after the machine with karmic has already
started to boot.
