Would it be an option to add a configuration directory where other
packages (i.e. gnome) could announce special mount points that should be
ignored?

Thanks for the bug report. Bug I dont think its a viable solution to
exclude .gvfs by default because nagios-plugins is built to be as
general as possible.

out could you run the following comand:
dpkg -S /etc/nagios-plugins/config/disk.cfg
