Is there any chance that this will be backported to the Hardy LTS?

Hi all,
It works!
I've just disabled Thierry's ppa and installed samba related packages

Could anyone else check the intrepid-proposed version of samba?
Thanks,

I just check the apparmor profiles for Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty, and they all
have (after including the abstractions):
#include
/etc/ssl/private/ r,
/etc/ssl/private/* r,
This works out to:
/etc/ssl/ r,
/etc/ssl/certs/ r,
/etc/ssl/certs/* r,
/etc/ssl/private/ r,
/etc/ssl/privat
It seems to be fixed in proposed. I just added proposed to sources and
apache prefork installed fine.
Thanks,
Phil

This security vulnerability was discovered after the original release of

And the mode being requested by the client is mediated by the umask.
A full fix for this will require the client to set the mode atomically
at file creation time, at a point where the samba server can apply the
mode in the open call instead of as a separate chmod() call. The
