[Bug 496932] Re: Keepalived haven't LVS support

2009-12-16 Thread Dave Walker
Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since
this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work,
I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.
Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!

[Bug 497149] Re: Packages using DKMS should make use of /usr/lib/dkms/common.postinst

2009-12-16 Thread Moshroum
Why I am bound to something which I have never signed or accepted? I
will never accept that unless the part is removed where it is stated
that Mr. Shuttleworth aka Mr. sexist dictator of Ubuntu is a perfect
person.

{{{
nobody is expected to be perfect in the Ubuntu community (except of course the
SABDFL)
}}}

Everybody who signed the document Ubuntu Code of Conduct - 1.0.1 or
Ubuntu Code of Conduct - 1.0 has either not read it or didn't
understand what was written there. Don't expect that I sign or agree
with that document.

And btw, you mentioned that this bug is also for Debian packages. Where is the
announcement to debian-devel and/or
debian-devel-announce? And were is the discussion about that bug in Debian
(normally done in debian-devel when it affects many packages)?

And again to that mapping stuff. It is extreme wrong to only support
only that amount of architectures and i386 doesn't mean i686 in Debian.

[Bug 485760] Re: Need to upgrade integrated zip module

2009-12-16 Thread mbrancalion
Update: i recompiled the actual php5 package (v. 5.2.10.dfsg.1-2ubuntu6.3), by
using the debian way (apt-get source, etc).
I only changed the file debian/rules by stripping away the option
--enable-zip in the COMMON_CONFIG variable.
And i changed the version number by adding a -custom1, using debchange.

Once recompiled and installed, now (as i presumed) the zip module, which
i had installed with pecl (v. 1.10.2) gets loaded, instead of being
included in the php itself, and my problem is solved.

I hope that the next released php5 package will hook to that upgraded version
of zip (1.10.2) ...

[Bug 73591] Re: smb workgroup detection takes too long

2009-12-16 Thread Eric B
Same problem here with Karmic Koala, half-solved.

The server is a Windows 2008 server. The Linux machine has only the
client part of samba. The IP addresses are fix.

In konqueror:
smb://servername works fine
smb://10.0.0.211 works fine
smb:/workgroup/servername fails

I found that my problem had two origins :
 - I had to start the Browser service on the windows server
 - the syntax smb:/workgroup/servername seems to have stopped working in KDE
(???)
   but smb://workgroup/ works fine and the final functionality is the same

I hope that helps.

2009-12-16 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Thanks.

The error from your log file is:

Dec 15 22:25:12 spook named[1834]: loading configuration from
'/etc/bind/named.conf'
Dec 15 22:25:12 spook named[1834]: /etc/bind/named.conf.local:4: 'options'

Dec 15 22:25:12 spook named[1834]: loading configuration: already exists
Dec 15 22:25:12 spook named[1834]: exiting (due to fatal error)

So it seems that you have more than one 'options' section in your main
config file and included files. Could you please check if you have
duplicated the 'options' section in named.conf and named.conf.local and
fix your configuration.

This will likely resolve your problem. If so please set the bug's status
to Invalid. Thanks in advance!

[Bug 497559] [NEW] php5-curl not flushing files to disk correctly until script exits

2009-12-16 Thread Chuck
Public bug reported:

Ran the following script which uses curl to download file from a remote web
server:

?php
$ch = curl_init();
echo Downloading\n;
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, '600');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL,
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/freeghost/Kernel-2.6.32.1.kitchensink; );
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
curl_setopt( $ch, CURLOPT_BINARYTRANSFER, 1 );
$fp = fopen(/tmp/bzImage, 'wb');
if ( $fp )
{
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FILE, $fp);
curl_exec ($ch);
curl_close ($ch);
fclose($fp);
}

for( $i = 0; $i  3; $i++ )
{
echo filesize( /tmp/bzImage ) . \n;
sleep( 10 );
}
?

Expected:

file size to report the real size of 4142832 bytes

using

ls -l

during the running of the script (before it terminates) returns a
filesize of 4141056 but it should return 4142832 as it does when the
script exits.

This was confirmed on two desktops, and functions correctly on Fedora 9

This is a problem is you are chain operations in the same script,
because it appears as if the file doesn't get flushed to disk. So for
example, we attempt to ftp the file off after download, but it is
corrupted as only 4141056 bytes are sent.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

[Bug 414885] Re: KVM crashes when -vga is set to vmware.

2009-12-16 Thread Roland Dreier
I see this too (Lucid guest). As a workaround, using -vnc :1 instead
of the default sdl output lets me use -vga vmware.

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

If you connect to another machine via ssh and that machine crashes, the

[Bug 392570] Re: kvm hanging on startup

2009-12-16 Thread Ka-Hing Cheung
I am in karmic and I need to use npt=0 (if I don't specify a value, it's
1) for my XP VM to boot correctly. In jaunty it was fine though, but I
didn't verify the npt value in there.

[Bug 442498] Re: karmic openldap cut-to-bone-and-beyond install, why ????

2009-12-16 Thread Derek Simkowiak
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 463684 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463684

Please, provide a working default configuration with the common schemas
(inetOrgUser, sambaUser, maybe virtual mail domains).

Do we really need to argue the benefits an easy-to-install network LDAP
server? As of 9.04 the client installation was very straight-forward...
but right now the fastest way to get a usable Ubuntu LDAP server is to
install eBox, which comes with hundreds of megs of stuff that we really
don't need.

Even though I know how to configure a slapd server by hand, doesn't mean
I want to waste my time doing it.

[Bug 414885] Re: KVM crashes when -vga is set to vmware.

2009-12-16 Thread Roland Dreier
I figured out the cause of the crash, at least in my system. With SDL,
qemu-kvm advertises the cursor setting capability to the guest, and
therefore gets a DEFINE_CURSOR command. In the crashing case, it gets a
request for a 64x64 cursor at 32bpp, which requires 64*64 = 4096 32-bit
words to store. However struct vmsvga_cursor_definition_s.image[] is
declared to have size only 1024, so handling the cursor request overruns
the array.

I'm attaching a patch that enlarges the image array, which fixes the
issue (for me at least -- I am able to run a Lucid guest with the vmware
X.org driver on a Karmic host with -vga vmware with this applied,
which used to crash). I've not checked if upstream has fixed this yet.
