iptables. Can i suggest you add the iptables line to

sshd attempts to open /var/run/sshd/dev/log in order to log events, but this
file did not exist.
I ran mkdir /var/run/sshd/dev and added $AddUnixListenSocket
/var/run/sshd/dev/log to /etc/rsyslog.d/75-ssh.conf. That should fix

I also have this problem under Ubuntu 10.04LTS.
Running the automounter manually (thanks onkara), on attempting to change to an
NFS-mounted directory, I noticed:
mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking.
mount.nfs: Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or
I agree with Paul Sladen -- if this used the UUID mechanism it would be
simpler to change. That's also what most of the kvm docs indicate. So
why isn't vmbuilder using it?

Using virtio for block devices makes disks and partitions disappear in KVM/QEMU
(using vmbuilder and libvirt)
The problem was solved by running sudo dpkg --purge --force-remove-
reinstreq apache2.2-common which completelly deletes all package
configuration files and removing /var/www directory. After apache2
installed successfully.
May be removing /var/www directory is not necessary, i've done this just
+1 as kvm isn't much use without bridged networking.

I tried looking through /var/log/*, but I can't find any relevant log
entries that would indicate why slapd didn't start (or perhaps it does
start and crashes/exits quickly for some reason). Any pointers on
tracing

Could you please post your sshd config file so we can work on reproducing the
bug? (It should be /etc/ssh/sshd_config). I'm going to mark it as Incomplete
for the meantime.
