Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. [Bug 776945] Re: Apparmor results in denying operation mknod for isc-dhcp-server
I have the issue with last week's isc-dhcp-server, ubuntu 12.04 LTS. That package uses /var/run/dhcpd.run and does NOT use the sub-directory /var/run/dhcp-server (as claimed by Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand)). The solution for me was to add a symbolic link (as root): ln -s /var/run/dhcp-server/dhcpd.pid /var/run/dhcpd.pid Now everything works fine! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776945 Title: Apparmor results in denying operation mknod for isc-dhcp-server To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/776945/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 958534] Re: Update to version 3.6.3-2
I have merged samba with Debian version 3.6.3-2. I also updated also the symbol files of libwbclient0 and libsmbclient, I do not know for sure whether this is desired. If not, please remove from patch before applying. Building went without problems. I did not try to install as I do not have a precise system on my hands. I'll build the samba package in my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~veger/+archive/ppa), so it can be tested. ** Attachment added: ubuntu_changes.debdiff.gz https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/958534/+attachment/2892393/+files/ubuntu_changes.debdiff.gz ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = New ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Assignee: Maarten Bezemer (veger) = (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958534 Title: Update to version 3.6.3-2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/958534/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 958704] [NEW] ubuntu 12.04 boot with nis(ypbind) autofs (nfs) not working.
Public bug reported: I upgraded a working 11.10 to 12.04 and now I no longer can login to the machine. Problem has been for several weeks now so it's obviously not a transient problem. What is happening is that I get no graphics login. lightdm starts I think but fails to present a login screen. changing the boot so that I boot into text mode instead reveals the following problems. Its takes a long time to get a login prompt and when it shows up it's possible to enter root user and password but then the login hangs for a few minutes before a bash prompt show up. after that its possible to see that autofs has not started so its impossible to login as a normal user. starting autofs with start autofs do not works unless I also restart ypbind at the same time as autofs waits for ypbind and do not understand that is is already started. after boot ypbind and autofs is restarted I can start lightdm and login to the system. Problem is this is a 5 minutes procedure for every boot. and no suspend do not work so that is not a workaround. Upstart is completely impossible to understand so I'm not sure what the problem really is. ** Affects: autofs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958704 Title: ubuntu 12.04 boot with nis(ypbind) autofs (nfs) not working. [Bug 948461] Re: apt-get hashsum/size mismatch because s3 mirrors don't support http pipelining correctly
Ben and I did backports, and I've uploaded to lucid, maverick, natty, oneiric. We're waiting on approval for opulation into -proposed. The plan from there is to get testing and population into -updates. Then, * release new images including this modification * give some time for existing instances to populate * email to different lists announcing need for the update/change * switch S3 mirrors into production. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948461 Title: apt-get hashsum/size mismatch because s3 mirrors don't support http pipelining correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/948461/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot
OK, no idea if this will help, but when I get thrown into initramfs, when running 'dmraid -ay', it says the raid volume is already activated, but in /dev I only have the raided drive (dm-0) and not any of the partitions (dm-1 and dm-2). Booting from a rescue disk, I have the same problem and after running kpartx (iirc, kpartx -a /dev/dm-0, I'm not in front of my pc), the devices appear and can be mounted. So, if the dmraid udev tool is supposed to take care of running kpartx... it's not working. btw, drives are running under isw : Intel Software RAID (4x120gb agility 3s, sda-sdd), so I'm not sure if I'm affected by the lack of awk and sed hooks as martin pointed out earlier... [Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot
Here's what fixed it for me: change the following line in sbin/dmraid-activate back to the same as it was in initrd.img.3.0.0.12-generic from Oneric: Change (around line 75): # array brought up in degraded mode, except in the case of striped arrays. dmraid -p -i -ay -Z $1 To: # array brought up in degraded mode, except in the case of striped arrays. dmraid -i -ay -Z $1 I'm curious to know the reason they decided to add the -p in this version. Does anyone know? Let me know if you need me to post the step-by-step fix.. most people probably have no idea about how to pkg/re-pkg the initrd file. Cheers! Re: [Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot
Ken, for me, everything was in /dev/mapper and before running dmraid -ay ls /dev/mapper/ only had the device, not the partitions: isw_dgjgchief_Volume0 Then after dmraid -ay, ls /dev/mapper shows (p1,p2,p3 being my /, home, swap partitions): isw_dgjgchief_Volume0p1 isw_dgjgchief_Volume0p3 isw_dgjgchief_Volume0 isw_dgjgchief_Volume0p2 I think my machine is running with the sd drives setup as striped. Never the less, the fix in my previous comment works for my situation. [Bug 958534] Re: Update to version 3.6.3-2
Thanks Maarten! The symbol updates look a bit strange. I wonder why Debian doesn't have them? It's the very same upstream version. Also, the versions should not have the ubuntu revision in them, just the upstream version when they got introduced. I propose to back out the *.symbols changes for now, and if they are desired and needed they can go into a new bug?
