Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If this is indeed a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082699 Title: cannot copy to samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1082699/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1083155] [NEW] Unable to set Content-MD5 header when using chunked transfer encoding
Public bug reported: I came across this when debugging test failures of Openstack Glance with Webob 1.1.1 as found in 12.04+ Taking the following code from glance: def download(self, response, result): size = result['meta']['size'] checksum = result['meta']['checksum'] response.headers['Content-Length'] = size response.headers['Content-Type'] = 'application/octet-stream' if checksum: response.headers['Content-MD5'] = checksum response.app_iter = common.size_checked_iter( response, result['meta'], size, result['data'], self.notifier) This should create a response with appropriate headers (including a MD5 checksum) and then use the iterator to return the content (potentially a large image) to the calling client; however when: response.app_iter = ... occurs the MD5 that was set in the preceeding line is set back to 'None' in the response object; result is a chunked transfer encoded response without a checksum (which should be supported). I traced this back to webob/response.py: def _app_iter__set(self, value): if self._app_iter is not None: # Undo the automatically-set content-length self.content_length = None self.content_md5 = None self._app_iter = value During construction of the object, neither the app_iter or body is specified and as a result the body is set to '' (and the app_iter to [ '' ]). So even though no data has ever been provided, the md5 sum is dropped as soon as the iterator is provided. That code path is now covered. In the longer term we should clean up the int, number, uint64, size type proliferation and handle them consistently. Dealloc visitor is somewhat of a special case, as it only cares about the underlying C type and not about the visitor-specific representation. In the case of generated types like these, it only needs to match the type that QAPI generates (uint64_t in the case of type_size). For input/output visitors, new types should either have a compatible fallback, or abort if there's no compatible fallback and we attempt to use a visitor that doesn't support the type. AFAIK we don't have one that falls into the latter category atm (there is one in the QIDL series for native C arrays, which has no generic fallback and will abort in cases where we use a visitor that doesn't implement that type explicitly). Dealloc shouldn't use compatibility fallbacks though, which is probably something we need to clean up. It should have explicit implementations for all types we introduce, and those implementations should match the type use for QAPI-generated types. Should a comment be added somewhere along the lines of If you add a hook here you also need to implement one there to avoid such inconsistency for the future? There is no single point like register_visitor() where we could check that callbacks are set up. That would have been a nice way to prevent incomplete visitors. The issue is that qapi/qapi-visit-core.h says type_uint64 and type_size may be NULL, but it documents that visit_type_size() falls back to type_uint64() if type_size() is NULL. The case we hit was that type_uint64() is also NULL. Should it fall back to type_int() (int64_t)? I hit this issue implementing a test case for QIDL that introduces the usage of type_size() for QmpOutputVisitor. The problem is that it references -type_uint64() directly instead of using visit_type_uint64() which has the fallback handling (-type_int()) for visitors that don't have a specific implementation for type_uint64. I have a patch in the QIDL series that does this, and this would also fix the issue you're hitting with the dealloc visitor, but as noted above I think relying on fallbacks for the dealloc visitor is the wrong approach, so I think we should treat these as 2 seperate issues and take your patch for 1.3. The error case I hit isn't reachable in 1.3 atm so I think that should be sufficient for now. [Bug 1068843] Re: maas-cluster-controller doesn't have images for provisioning
** Description changed: Context is the QA lab In one VM I have the region-controller (RC) where: 10.98.0.90 is the api/webui 192.168.21.5 is the RC's provisioning server - On another VM I have a cluster-controller (CC) where 192.168.20.5 is the CC's provisioning server 10.98.0.91 is the interface connected to the RC network The 21.x and 20.x networks don't have access to each other. When I install the CC, I set up the API to http://10.98.0.90/MAAS When the CC is registered to the RC and and dhcpd.conf file is written, I get this: subnet 192.168.20.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 { -next-server 192.168.21.5; -filename pxelinux.0; -option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0; -option broadcast-address 192.168.20.255; -option domain-name-servers 192.168.21.5; -option routers 192.168.20.1; -range dynamic-bootp 192.168.20.10 192.168.20.20; + next-server 192.168.21.5; + filename pxelinux.0; + option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0; + option broadcast-address 192.168.20.255; + option domain-name-servers 192.168.21.5; + option routers 192.168.20.1; + range dynamic-bootp 192.168.20.10 192.168.20.20; } When the nodes in the 20.x network are booted, they can reach the DHCP server but can't reach the provisioning server. If I change the next-server value to 192.168.20.5, the nodes can't find the images. Looks like when the CC is registered, the images in the RC should be sent to the CC, so it can serve them to the nodes in its network. + + + = python-tx-tftp = + + [Impact] + Enables the backend to know from what address the request came in on. This is an important fix related to MAAS, as it requires from what IP address the request came from in order to provide tftp correctly. + + [Test Case] + 1. Install MAAS region in 1 machine.(Make sure iscsi is not running) + 2. Install MAAS cluster in a second machine. (ISCSI will be running managed by MAAS) + 3. Boot a client machine. + If the enlistment failed it is because the machine tried to access the region controller instead of the cluster controller. If the machine enlists successful we can be confident that the bug is resolved. + + [Regression Potential] + Minimal. This simply passes a new argument and does not affect the code. This has been tested wwith MAAS and the MAAS team is committed to fix any issues for this package from this point forward. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068843 Title: maas-cluster-controller doesn't have images for provisioning To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1068843/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
