In fact I would like to *continue* to use this feature. It seems have
broken with the release upgrade to 13.04. I used to have a file
[/var]/run/bind/named.options, created by resolvconf. I think it was
done by /etc/resolvconf/update.d/bind.
It seems like this file had been removed from
@Yolanda, could you explain the reason why this is an issue with ntp since ntp
is not installed, and also why it has been changed to Wishlist?
Many Thanks.

Ah, I probably confused that with the mechanism used to find dom0 usable
kernel. In the end this does not need to be overly clever at all. I
suppose it should be enough just to sort kernels by version and name.
Preferring the ec2 kernel name if there are multiple kernels with the
same version.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
This was considered when irqbalance was originally added:

The feature was dropped from the resolvconf package in Ubuntu 13.04. The
bind9 maintainers have been invited to add a similar feature to support
BIND 9. Your contribution may help to convince them to take action.
Until this feature actually appears in bind9 you will have to implement
it locally

python-pika is at version 0.9.5-1 in Debian as well, and Ubuntu has
inherited this version. To get python-pika updated, please ask Debian to
update their version, and then we can merge this into Ubuntu.

It actually seems like it might be best to *not* fix it in 12.04.
* You can easily add a 'salt' metapackage to the ppa which would fix it
* there is no 'salt' or salt-minion package in 12.04 its not explicitly
*wrong* there.
* There isn't an easy way to make this change without breaking
