[Bug 1233042] Re: swift-core repository failed to fetch

2013-09-30 Thread Thierry Carrez
This repository has been deprecated two years ago, when swift was added
to the Ubuntu main repository. It was deleted a few days ago.

If you have Swift installed on 12.04, the packages probably come from
the main repository, so you don't need the PPA at all (yes, the doc
needs to be updated). You can remove the PPA by running:

sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:swift-core/release

Hope this helps,

[Bug 1185160] Re: no way to see what user has a node allocated

2013-09-30 Thread Scott Moser
I've opened bug 1233158 to track the lack of ipmi creds.

** Description changed:

  $ maas-cli admin node read node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129
  {
  status: 6,
  macaddress_set: [
  {
  resource_uri:
/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes/node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129/macs/00:25:90:4c:f0:34/,
  mac_address: 00:20:20:20:20:20
  },
  {
  resource_uri:
/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes/node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129/macs/00:25:90:4c:f0:35/,
  mac_address: 00:30:30:30:30:30:
  }
  ],
  netboot: false,
  hostname: maas-1-08.mydomain.example.com,
  power_type: ipmi,
  system_id: node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129,
  architecture: amd64/generic,
  tag_names: [
  use-fastpath-installer
  ],
  resource_uri:
/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes/node-56745bf8-c7a3-11e2-a421-d4ae527ac129/
  }

  The above shows me that this node is in status '6' (which is
  allocated), but gives me no way to know *who* owns it. Just that it
  is someone. (I can tell its not me by doing list-allocated, but its not
  obvious here).

  That would seem fine, and possibly a security decision, but I'm an
  admin. In the web-ui I can see 'allocated to bob'.

  Also, as I'm admin, I'd really like it to show me IPMI data too. Its
  hardly useful to have to go to the web UI and click 3 times to see that.

[Bug 1185756] Re: drbd8-utils not compatible with linux-lts-raring kernel in 12.04

2013-09-30 Thread Stefan Bader
So it seems the version displayed by the tools is coded to be that older
version. The code itself rather looks to be more recent. So I would
rather just tweak the version numbers.

[Bug 1185756] Re: drbd8-utils not compatible with linux-lts-raring kernel in 12.04

2013-09-30 Thread Stefan Bader
I re-uploaded the Raring debdiff and packages (sorry a bit unclean and
using the same version number again). The only change to the previous
version is the legacy tools version number being bumped.

Sorry, but these cards don't support AES, only DES
(AP9617,AP9618,AP9619).

I have managed to fix the communication problem by using simple passwords
without any special characters.
upsdrvctl still outputs some unhandled ASNs, but it seems to have no influence
on NUT working.

[Bug 1224723] Re: Clamscan finds CVE-2013-2465 in openjdk-6-jre-headless

2013-09-30 Thread Todd Taft
CVE-2013-2465 is a CVE against Java, although it is against Oracle Java.
It's not immediately clear to me whether or not this vulnerability is
also applicable to openJDK. Can you confirm that this vulnerability
does not apply to openJDK (or that it is already patched in this
version)?

Labeling the file as a virus is probably incorrect, but my concern was
that it represented an unpatched security vulnerability.

Most of the other files in http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security
/ubuntu-cve-tracker/master/view/head:/README.virus have obvious reasons
that they would constitute false positives (e.g. they are samples of
exploits/viruses), but I don't see an obvious reason why this particular
file would be a false positive. If this really is a false positive,
then I would suggest that it's a bug in the clam database, since that
means that it is detecting a Java security problem where none exists.

[Bug 1224723] Re: Clamscan finds CVE-2013-2465 in openjdk-6-jre-headless

2013-09-30 Thread Marc Deslauriers
The Java.Exploit.CVE_2013_2465 virus takes advantage of unpatched
versions of Java and OpenJDK which are vulnerable to CVE-2013-2465. The
signature isn't meant to detect the vulnerability itself, but a specific
piece of malware that targets it.

OpenJDK got updated for this CVE in July:
http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-1908-1/

It is likely that the ClamAV signature simply includes the API that is
being used by the malware, and that API happens to also be used by code
in the rt.jar file.

I agree, this is likely a bug in the clamav signature database, which we
do not ship in Ubuntu.

I am closing this bug since there is no actionable item. If you want
this to be corrected in the ClamAV database, I suggest filing a bug with
the ClamAV project here:

http://www.clamav.net/lang/en/sendvirus/submit-fp/

Thanks.

Re: [Bug 1185756] Re: drbd8-utils not compatible with linux-lts-raring kernel in 12.04

2013-09-30 Thread Numérigraphe
Thanks for your care.
I've had a problem on the cluster with drbd 8.3 when the host where your
package was installed.
The power was lost and when it was restored, the drbd resources did not
connect. It may be related to your package or not, I'm unsure.
I reverted to the standard package and brought the resources down and up
for a quick fix, but that may be worth investigating.
If time permits, I'll try to reproduce that on the other cluster and let
you know - unless someone else can confirm whether this works or not.

 So while upgrading the kernel causes no issues, trying to boot back into an

 possible to force it back but then caused a complete re-sync.
The instructions for downgrading from 8.4 to 8.3 are here, maybe it's
worth adding them to the release notes?

[Bug 1226855] Re: Cannot use open-iscsi inside LXC container

2013-09-30 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks, that is an interesting strace. What is 192.0.2.69 - is that the
host? Could you also start the daemon in the container by hand under
strace for a few seconds so we can see exactly how fd 6 is created?
(Presumably it is a connection to iscsi_nl_sock, but I'm confused since
(a) it managed to get connected and only was refused on send, and (b) if
the daemon is talking over tcp then why is it doing netlink at all).
