Where is the test suite? The package has no debian/tests directory. I
see you added the Testsuite, but the tests that are run at build time
are not DEP8 tests.

Do you have any apparmor messages in the dmesg output of that machine
where chrony is failing to start?
After the first reboot, if you issue a sudo systemctl restart chrony,
does it work? Or same problem?
You said it's a desktop, how is the network brought up there? Is it only
available after
This is a wishlist bug and serves as a placeholder and reminder that
this package, and many others, could benefit from DEP8 tests.

Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu.
This is the error reported in the logs:
Preparing to unpack .../mysql-server-5.7_5.7.22-0ubuntu18.04.1_amd64.deb ...
grep: /etc/mysql/: No such file or directory

mysqld: Can't read dir of '/etc/mysql/conf.d/' (Errcode: 2 - No such file or
directory)

Could you please attach the output of dmesg right after you get the
error with ethtool? And I believe lspci would also be helpful for the
kernel people.
