[Bug 108338] Re: [apport] package ssh failed to install/upgrade:

2008-05-08 Thread Jonathan Smith
I have had a similar issue. I installed kubuntu 7.10 on i386 yesterday,
installed ssh-server, then performed a dist. upgrade. Having said that,
the errors reported when I looked at it with sudo dpkg --configure -a
were about corrupt archives, a removed, purged, cleaned and reinstalled
and things were somewhat more successful.

[Bug 50385] Re: samba can't be launched by a normal user (qemu related)

2008-05-08 Thread janevert
After the workaround I did, samba started and was usable from a w2k in qemu.
(I did start chmodding only one file and manually starting smbd and then it
complained about another one and then another one...)

I don't know what's incomplete about this bug and I can confirm that it
still exists with hardy packages: qemu 0.9.1-1ubuntu1, samba 3.0.28a-
1ubuntu4.

Well, simply put, in Ubuntu 7.10, you just need to open Nautilus, press
Ctrl + L, type in smb://LAN IP then ALL the shared stuffs (files,
folders...) will be displayed and ready, however, in Ubuntu 8.04, after
typing in smb://LAN IP, all you get is nothing in Nautilus. What you
have to do is to add the full name of the shared folder right after the
LAN IP to make it look like smb://LAN IP/SharedFolder.

Are you able to access the server LAN_IP with the smbclient command line
?

[Bug 197606] Re: [SRU] Invalid db.table name 'g2_AccessMap' at /usr/bin/mysqlhotcopy line 845

2008-05-08 Thread Chuck Short
Statement of impact:

This prevents the user from using the mysqlhotcopy script.

How this bug has been addressed:

Hardy originally had a broken mysqlhotcopy script that we tried to fix
in the hardy dev cycle but there was a typo in the patch. I have updated
the patch for 8.04.1 and included it in this SRU request.

TEST CASE:

1. Install mysql.
2. Create a database called test
3. Run the mysqlhotcopy command: mysqlhotcopy --username=root test
/tmp/test.data
4. The command will not work properly and you will probably get the folloiwng
error Invalid db.table name 'g2_AccessMap' at /usr/bin/mysqlhotcopy line 845.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks
chuck
