[Bug 253032] Re: likewise-open-gui needs a better menu item name
Selecting Likewise currently brings up a window where : - the window title is Likewise AD Settings. - inside the window there is a large Active Directory Membership header We should probably choose one of those. [Bug 238878] Re: Change likewise-open default Domain separator
\ is the default domain separator in the Windows world, so we might want to keep it as the default separator. At the moment the lwiauthd.conf file is basically rewritten by Likewise-Open when you join the domain. As a workaround you just change the winbind separator in lwiauthd.conf just after domain join (before new domain users log in), then restart likewise-open. it should work ok. [Bug 253268] [NEW] php5-cgi not working with suphp in Hardy
Public bug reported: Suphp doesn't work in Hardy. It seems that it is simply ignored and php processes are executed under www-data. It was working fine under Gutsy. I dist-upgraded a month ago but I discovered the problem only recently (because one of my website was unable to read a config file chmoded to 700). I'm pretty sure it's the dist-upgrade because the suphp log stopped the day I dist-upgraded (approximately at least). I didn't change anything in the config in the meantime. Also, when investigation the problem, I copied /etc/apache2 /etc/php5 and /etc/suphp from a working Debian installation. It doesn't work under Hardy. The symptoms are the following : 1) if mod_php5 is enabled, processes run with www-data permissions. phpinfo() returns Apache 2.0 Handler as the server API. (when suphp is working, it returns Cgi/FastCgi AFAIK 2) if mod_php5 is not enabled, you will receive an error 500. The logs contain the following lines : [Wed Jul 30 14:31:55 2008] [error] [client 212.190.219.18] SecurityException in Application.cpp:440: Handler not found in configuration [Wed Jul 30 14:31:55 2008] [error] [client 212.190.219.18] Caused by KeyNotFoundException in Configuration.cpp:234: Handler application/x-httpd-php not found [Wed Jul 30 14:31:55 2008] [error] [client 212.190.219.18] Premature end of script headers: index.php If both suphp and php5 are disabled, then your browser offers you to download the file (which is normal). Also, it has to be noted that suphp is well active because if you try to access a software not in the defined root, you will get an error in the logs. So, it seems like the problem is not suphp but the cgi part of php5 which is not responding or something like that. I'm not an expert so I'm not sure about the where to assign this issue. ** Affects: php5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: suphp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: php5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- php5-cgi not working with suphp in Hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253268 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I am not suggesting separate entries in a grub menu---I do not understand where you got that idea. I'm happy to review your patches, if you have code for an alternative approach. The design is not yet final. The design I set forth emulates what I did for yaboot, the PowerPC bootloader, several years ago. There have been no complaints of the yaboot functionality, which is in use by a number of commercial, enterprise PPC users. To your points a) SMART output is practically worthless, IMHO. I have used it extensively, and it has completely failed to report a negative status of known, bad drives, and it has marked drives as 'bad' that went on to operate flawlessly for years. If users want to use smartmontools, they can do that in userspace, but I do not recommend integrating such an imprecise technology into the init/boot processes. b) We already have a timer, set to 30 seconds, which waits for the device containing the root filesystem to show up. Perhaps you want to see a graphic representation of that timer. If so, that is a reasonable wishlist item. Feel free to open a new bug against initramfs-tools for that one. Patches welcome. c) This is how initramfs-tools works already. d) This is how my patches to Bug #120375 work, with the exception that they they support only a single degraded RAID device for $ROOT. You can open a new bug, with complete instructions on how to reproduce, a more complex scenario involving multiple degraded RAID devices required for booting. :-Dustin -- root raid installs have bad grub config https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/33649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is a direct subscriber. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

The thing is that there is no 'status' function in Ubuntu's apache init script.
