[Bug 270570] [NEW] cifs mounts and unmounts properly for a day or so, then hangs on future mounts

2008-09-15 Thread Dan VerWeire
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: samba

I have a script that every hour mounts a share using CIFS, copies some
files, then unmounts the share. This works for a day or so, then I am
unable to mount any CIFS shares. I cannot rmmod cifs. In order to mount
shares again, I must reboot my machine.

kernel 2.6.26 on Hardy
ps aux | grep cifs shows a bunch of /sbin/mount.cifs processes that are in
state D (Uninterruptible sleep)
-Also, [cifsd] is in state D
/etc/mtab will still contain the mounted shares
/proc/mounts does not list the shares
/proc/fs/cifs/DebugData contains:

[Bug 270512] Re: openssh-client could suggest xauth rather than recommend it

I'm not so sure that dropping it to a suggestion is a good idea. A lot
server software are managed by a GUI, which you need to run remote.

[Bug 250549] Re: Wrong interface speed from snmpd running as snmp user

permissions to set the speed of the device.

[Bug 250549] Re: Wrong interface speed from snmpd running as snmp user

2008-09-15 Thread Bjorn Ruud
That's what I'm saying. The snmp user, which is the default user for the
snmpd service, doesn't have permission. Reading interface speed fails
with the standard package installation. Isn't that a bug? Is there a way
to give the snmp user the permissions it needs without giving it too
much access?
