[Bug 301542] [NEW] Bypass auth checks in Nagios (CVE-2008-5027, CVE-2008-5028)
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: Binary package hint: nagios3 CVE 2008-5027 The Nagios process in (1) Nagios before 3.0.5 and (2) op5 Monitor before 4.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to bypass authorization checks, and trigger execution of arbitrary programs by this process, via an (a) custom form or a (b) browser addon. [Bug 227229] Re: LDAP and AD connection problem with hardy
Intrepid has a different nss-ldap configuration than hardy. There is a deamon nslcd in the package libnss-ldapd, which has its own config file /etc/nss-ldapd.conf with a different syntax (not compatible to Hardy's /etc/ldap.conf). I use the following filter statement for the groups. I am not an ldap expert, so maybe there is a better one. filter group ((objectClass=group)(msSFU30GidNumber=*)) -- LDAP and AD connection problem with hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libnss-ldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 301581] [NEW] Please merge dnsmasq 2.46-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dnsmasq Debian changes: * New upstream. (closes: #499162) (closes: #499007) * Remove from init script start-stop-daemon call to kill child processes. This is not needed since dnsmasq is carefully written to kill child processes, and it interacts badly with private instances of dnsmasq. (closes: #505523) * Provide /etc/dnsmasq.d and alter the installed /etc/default/dnsmasq so that /etc/dnsmasq.d is read. [Bug 286828] Re: Access to samba 3.0.24-3.0.25 shares using CIFS is broken on 8.10
Another workaround: set msdfs root = no on affected shares or in the [global] section of smb.conf. If you don't use DFS at all you can also disable it completely with host msdfs = no. This also made UNIX extensions finally work. Note that I had to remount all shares to get things working. I don't use DFS, so I can't tell what effect mixing DFS shares with non-DFS shares will have. This approach has the advantage that you don't need any changes on the client side, even when the nodfs option will be available - useful if you have a lot of clients to fix. -- Access to samba 3.0.24-3.0.25 shares using CIFS is broken on 8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286828 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 231060] Re: packages dnsmasq and libvirt-bin conflict with each other
dnsmasq 2.46-1 (soon in an archive near you) implements a /etc/dnsmasq.d directory that allows to drop configuration snippets from other packages. This opens ways for more collaboration between the two packages. [Bug 283852] Re: tomcat6 does not include tomcat-dbcp.jar
In Tomcat 5.5 the default database connection pool factory class is 'org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory', included in commons- dbcp.jar. So, the applications that didn't specify the dbcp factory class (the great majority, I guess) worked with no problems using tomcat 5.5 without tomcat-dbcp.jar in the 'commons/lib' folder. The problem is that starting from Tomcat 6, the default database connection pool factory class is 'org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory' included in tomcat-dbcp.jar, so all the applications that expects to work with Tomcat's default database connection pool factory will fail if tomcat-dbcp.jar is not in the classpath. -- tomcat6 does not include tomcat-dbcp.jar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283852 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to tomcat6 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 301898] [NEW] slaptest conversion does not configure monitor module
Public bug reported: The intrepid package defaults to using -F and /etc/ldap/slapd.d. [Bug 301581] Re: Please merge dnsmasq 2.46-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
This bug was fixed in the package dnsmasq - 2.46-1ubuntu1 --- dnsmasq (2.46-1ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low * Merge from debian unstable (LP: #301581), remaining changes: - TearDown spec recommendations in debian/postinst and debian/init dnsmasq (2.46-1) unstable; urgency=low * New upstream. This provides a drop-directory where libvirt can add options to make the system dnsmasq automatically play nice with libvirt's private instances.
