[Bug 338720] Re: Function lookup problem after calling setlocale(LC_ALL, tr_TR)

2009-03-16 Thread Andreas Olsson
Never mind that part about the tr_TR locale might be broken. That was
simply user error from my part. Wasn't thinking and automatically used
ISO-8859-1 where there obviously should have been ISO-8859-9.

Anyhow, I can still confirm the original bug report, providing there
function name consists of a capital I.

down, would you have the opportunity to test with Jaunty (for example
from an alpha6 liveCD) to see if the issue got solved in the 3.3.x Samba

[Bug 341816] Re: samba PANIC: failed to set uid

2009-03-16 Thread Jan Schneider
Yes, i have seen a lot of similar bug reports too, but all of them were
unresolved.

When the problem appeared we checked a lot of configuration issues.
The problem seems NOT to be user or client specific.
The users where the PANIC appeared:
 - had a unix account
 - a samba account with the same uid
 - no special ulimits set
 - no group membership which seems to be responsible for the problem
 - su user did work, opening files as this user did work, no messages like:
to many open files...

# getent passwd 11789
diehl:x:11789:11700::/home/diehl:/bin/bash

# pdbedit -L -u diehl
diehl:11789:

# su - diehl -c 'ulimit -u'
30720

# getent group 11700
groupname:x:11700:

# net groupmap list | grep groupname
groupname (SID) - groupname

Samba worked without any problems if there were less than about 100
clients/users connected.

Volker Lendecke from SerNet proposed to set change notify = no as a
workaround, which we did not really test.

If you need more information, please let me know, but since this server
acts as a domain controller in an productive environment I cannot
reproduce the bug.

Now my very BIG GUESS is that it could be that the code in Samba use -1

And that the code would be ok say, on 32 bits, but not on 64 bits.
Something like it is exepecting -1 on 32 bits, and received -1 on 64 bits.

 Please provide the output:
 dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} ${Version} ${Source} ${Status}\n' | grep samba
for the server and the client.

Then after that I intend to mark it as Confirmed for a developer to look
 at the bug.

The trouble is that Debian is still on php 5.2.6.dfsg.1-3, and we draw

Re: [Bug 305393] Re: Please upgrade php5 to new upstream version 5.2.9

2009-03-16 Thread Dustin Kirkland
Hmm, interestingly, it seems that the appendage of .dfsg.1-3ubuntu2
onto Ubuntu's php5 versioning seems to break the merge analysis and
the grab-merge.sh script.

It seems that php5 slipped through the cracks for Jaunty.

Unfortunately, that means it's probably too late at this point. Sorry.

[Bug 216358] Re: Samba crashes repeatedly to assert_uid

2009-03-16 Thread Paul Dufresne
In fact I believe it comes from that guy:
http://webui.sourcelabs.com/rhel/issues/459901
he seems to suggest that the real problem is with the kernel not exactly
implementing Posix correctly.

I still have a doubt because he speak of setresuid changing the value of AIO,
not changing the value of
setresuid itself. OTOH, previous comment suggest that this fix the bug with
ASSERT_UID.
Maybe this also change the value returned by setresuid.
