have the same problem. From the day their ISP started using DNS
redirection, the ability to click on Places
Confirmed this on Jaunty when configured via dhcp. karmic does not seem

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper
cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is
quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of
this project.
Though the fix is simple. This is Bug does not affect the majority
Sorry for asking annoying questions but I'm new at bug triaging and I
want to be sure that I get the whole picture.
If I get you correctly your users are declared in NIS which means that
they must have the same homedirs on every box they access. Do your users
with /home/user/NAME have that dir
(with
means (with the correct permissions) :-)

Quick test lead me to believe that open-iscsi 2.0.865-1ubuntu3.1 from
hardy-proposed work as explained by Steve. That is, the block device
appear after the bonded Ethernet is brought up. It is too late for the
file system on the iSCSI target to be mounted from /etc/fstab, but at

From what I see, the hardy version of iscsi_discovery doesn't use awk at
all; so that aspect of this bug seems to only apply to later releases,
and fixing the iscsi-iname invocation, as mentioned in comment #2, looks
like it should be sufficient for hardy. Preparing an SRU upload.

my /etc/mysql/my.cnf, and the socket location in /etc/mysql/debian.cnf
was different. Therefore the server could not be stopped nor started
during upgrade.

Yeah, this isn't just for roaming laptops, as Carlos noted this is a
problem even for desktop installations that use network-manager to get
DHCP from a wired interface.
I looked through the network-manager revision history, and found this:
