I have experienced this for the last few months, each time mysql is upgraded. A
workaround that works for me is:
1. stop apparmor [/etc/init.d/apparmor stop ]
2. stop mysql (probably not necessary) [ /etc/init.d/mysql stop ]
3. start mysql [ /etc/init.d/mysql start ]
4. start apparmor
The main issue is that eucalyptus/cloud-address was just meant to hold
the value of the user answer to the No CLC detected, enter IP address
question from the installer (in order to get an IP address to get the
CC/SC/Walrus preseed from). In order to use it for this use case, you'll

No, I don't have the problem anymore. Sorry for not posting an update.
I am not sure about where the freezings were coming from, but since I

I think this is due to the installer using the kernel framebuffer, which
adds overhead and makes VMs seem slower.
Try booting a server ISO, and at the cd boot menu, hit F6, then ESC, and
add fb=false to the end of the kernel boot line.
This makes the menus far snappier for me.

I tried working around this as described above. In data center UEC at the
