Doing this on a Lucid with vmbuilder 0.12.3.r435.
After some testing I found out that this is not restricted to
failed/interrupted vmbuilder runs. Additionally leaving behind those
device mappings seem to interfere with the filesystem in the VM.

I have the same problem too. I solved it by adding
sleep 60
restart smbd
to /etc/rc.local.
I think the problem is samba starting before cups :-(

I can see why that fails, but there's really no easy way to fix this.
fakeroot/fakechroot cant be built statically I think as that would
defeat the purpose of overriding the symbols in shared libs, and so they
link to shared libs from the other arch.

Well, I've narrowed my problem to its source and it's not a bug from
Apache or PHP but a coding issue from me: I used a custom function named
goto() and it seems that since PHP 5.3, goto is the name of a new
operator.

dpkg -configure -a, but it always end up with error that Mysql. sock file is
missing. I was using an old version of mysql 5.0. During this installation it

I've got similar symptoms without a custom wrapper script.
Ubuntu (10.04) won't start my machines with apparmor enabled.
I had a normal emulator/usr/bin/kvm/emulator entry in each machine.
After removing this entry, it works with apparmor, too.

I'm thinking something may have gone wrong setting the permissions on
the BDB database files.
Can you post the output of the following commands?
ls -ld /var/backups/dc*
ls -l /var/backups/dc*
uname -a
grep ^directory /etc/ldap/slapd.conf*
ls -la path listed in output
Looking more closely at the slapd.postinst script, I see that the word
failed. is actually associated with the Migrating slapd.conf file
message below it, not with the chowning database directory message
above it. So I don't think there's problem with the permissions after
all.

you enabled the profile to load on boot with 'aa-enforce', you can
expect to have to restart the daemon immediately after loading the
profile. After a reboot, it should be in enforce mode.

This path looks to be correct after installing lucid and aptitude
install dovecot-postfix...
mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -c /etc/dovecot/conf.d/01

that file does exist in this case... I have other issues but i wont go
into those here...
