[Bug 577683] Re: tomcat6 directory structure broken
Reading the answer to the question would probably have helped you. FWIW we have been working in the 10.04 cycle with upstream to be both standards-compliant and working, so the collaboration is already in progress. The tomcat6 packaging is not supposed to be used from /usr/share/tomcat6 by running bin/startup.bin. This is the (shared) location for files used in common by the tomcat6 and tomcat6-user packages. As described in http://doc.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/serverguide/C/tomcat.html there are two ways of using the packages. Using the system instance (tomcat6 package), it will be started from /etc/init.d/tomcat6 (with CATALINA_BASE=/var/lib/tomcat6 and CATALINA_HOME=/usr/share/tomcat6) Using a private instance (tomcat6-user package), use tomcat6-instance-create my-instance, then my-instance/bin/startup.sh (will start with CATALINA_BASE=my-instance and CATALINA_HOME=/usr/share/tomcat6) Permissions issues have been workarounded by no longer running with a SecurityManager (to mimic what the upstream Apache distribution does by default). If there are anything left, please file a new bug. ** Changed in: tomcat6 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- tomcat6 directory structure broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577683 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to tomcat6 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Paul, thanks for the Debdiff. I notice the version in lucid is 2.2.2-3ubuntu6, and your debdiff bumps to 2.2.2-3ubuntu7. [Bug 571093] Re: multipath + libvirtd eats away more memory over time
I performed some additional observations, I agree Nigel's statements in #13: disabling the change ACTION in /lib/udev/rules.d/95-multipath.rules is just a bandaid, the memory leak is there anyways, just that it takes wy longer to fill in the memory. The problem solved by disabling the change ACTION in /lib/udev/rules.d/95-multipath.rules seems to be a real bug somewhere in udev or multipath: monitoring with udevadm the number of events gets reduced from tons per second to one every 30 seconds in my hardware, which shows all the other events were spurious events generated by a udev/multipath feedback loop... [Bug 566792] Re: metadata service returns empty data with 200 OK
Scott, thank you for pursuing this issue. Indeed, the meta-data service keys off of the public IP of the VM, since that is the only source address that is translated when the NCs cannot directly contact the CLC (MANAGED modes). In order for the meta-data service to work, the VM needs to be assigned a public IP, and it looks like this operation is failing (indicated by the fact that the public/private IPs being reported are both from the private IP subnet). Lets take a look at cc.log for an instance that is failing to get a public IP (look for the RunInstance that corresponds with the instance ID in question, and include a few minutes of log after the RunInstance). We're specifically looking to see if an AssignAddress() operation is ever called for the VM's private IP, or if no AssignAddress() is ever called for that VM. I think this will help us figure out why that VM is not getting a public IP assigned. Thanks again, I think we're close to being able to get to the root cause of this. p.s. I notice that your VNET_NETMASK is set to an invalid value, but the iptables output doesn't reflect this problem; can you confirm that your VNET_NETMASK is actually '255.255.0.0' and not '256.255.0.0' as was reported above? [Bug 583530] Re: vm-builder 0.12.3-0ubuntu1 crashes and causes loop devices to be stuck
Sorry if I cant add much infos, but I had the same issue on lucid a few days ago. Ps -ef would show all the loop devices (8 of them as far as I can remember). If that helps chris, vmbuilder wont work as long as those loop devices are used - but if you reboot (I know...) it will clear the loop devices and vmbuilder will work. Just don't ctrl+c too much when running vmbuilder as long as this isnt solved... -- vm-builder 0.12.3-0ubuntu1 crashes and causes loop devices to be stuck https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/583530 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
