[Bug 631451] [NEW] [UIFe] UEC Web Portal has old logo, and css needs tweaking.

2010-09-06 Thread Dave Walker
Public bug reported:

The current UEC theme has the old Ubuntu logo, and the css needs
tweaking. Whilst it isn't release critical that the artwork is
refreshed; it would certainly be beneficial in providing a more polished
UEC release.

I am not aware of any string changes that are required, purely a logo a
css tweak. Additionally, I have not heard of anyone that has been
producing screenshots for Maverick UEC at this time. Therefore those
involved with documentation, should have a low impact.

[Bug 573975] Re: pxe image fails to boot: Forbidden directory

2010-09-06 Thread Thierry Carrez
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 531123 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/531123

Looking into it, in Karmic and before, tftpd was started with:
OPTIONS=-l -s /var/lib/tftpboot
start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --oknodo --exec $DAEMON -- $OPTIONS

And now it runs with:

TFTP_OPTIONS=
start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --oknodo --exec ${DAEMON} -- --listen --user
${TFTP_USERNAME} --address ${TFTP_ADDRESS} ${TFTP_OPTIONS} ${TFTP_DIRECTORY}

So it lacks the -s (or --secure) by default.

openssl gets updated to fix CVE-2009-3555, server renegotiations with
unpatched clients will fail. This patch adds the ability to revert to
the previous unsafe behaviour with a new SSLInsecureRenegotiation

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release:10.04
Samba version 3.4.7

The Setup  The problem:

We are running Windows 2008 R2 acting as a AD server. We are using SAMBA as a
fileserver authenticating off of the AD server.
We are a company situated within Asia, as such most of our files are in either
Japanese, Korean, or Chinese.

Everything is running nicely execpt for:

The problem is the SAMBA server might take up to 30seconds to open a
binary file (mostly msword docs, but some photoshop files as well from a
windows workstation. This *does not* occur when I access the shares from
my linux (ubuntu) workstation.

This error keeps showing up in the logs:

[2010/09/06 12:52:31,  3] lib/charcnv.c:242(convert_string_internal)
convert_string_internal: Conversion error: Incomplete multibyte
sequence(ト_20091125.xls)

Our smb.conf (information erased to protect the innocent)
As i thought it was related to optlocks, apparently to no effect.

[Bug 631489] Re: Browsing through Folders via samba is very slow

2010-09-06 Thread kurt belgrave
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this
bug as a bug in samba.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 631837] [NEW] Sync puppet 2.6.1~rc3-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

2010-09-06 Thread Mathias Gug
Public bug reported:

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

 affects ubuntu/puppet
 status confirmed
 importance wishlist

 done

Please sync puppet 2.6.1~rc3-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

All changes have been included in the Debian package uploaded to experimental.
The new upstream version is a bug fix only version.

Changelog entries since current maverick version 2.6.1~rc2-0ubuntu1:

puppet (2.6.1~rc3-1) experimental; urgency=low

  [ Mathias Gug ]
  * New upstream version:
- fix config.ru file to run puppetmaster as a rack application.
  (Closes: #593557)
  * Fix test suite to run from a package install rather then from the source
directory:
+ Rakefile: use system puppet.rb file to detect version.
+ spec/unit/application/apply_spec.rb: Fix test suite to use puppet
  system library.
+ spec/spec_helper.rb: disable gem.
  * Fix init service provider to correctly check the status of services
using upstart jobs (Closes: #584481, LP: #551544).
  * etckeeper integration (Closes: #571127)
[server-lucid-puppet-etckeeper-integration]:
+ debian/etckeeper-commit-post, debian/etckeeper-commit-pre:
   Call etckeeper commit before and after catalog runs.
   Silently bail out if etckeeper is not available.
+ debian/puppet.conf: Call out to the etckeeper hooks using
   the prerun_command and postrun_command hooks.
+ debian/rules: Install the etckeeper hook scripts in /etc/puppet.
+ debian/README.Debian: add note about etckeeper integration.
+ debian/control: the puppet package suggests etckeeper.
  * Create puppetmaster-passenger package to automatically setup the
puppetmaster to be run under mod passenger and apache2:
- create new puppetmaster-common package to share files between
  puppetmaster (ie webrick) and puppetmaster-passenger.
- move puppetqd to puppetmaster-common.
- debian/puppet.conf: enable ssl options so that the default configuration
  works out of the box under passenger.
  * debian/puppet-common.postinst: set permissions and ownership of puppet log
directory.
  * Move puppetmaster's Recommends to Suggests.

  [ Stig Sandbeck Mathisen ]
  * Recommend lsb-release (Closes: #593606)
  * Recommend debconf-utils (Closes: #593780)
  * ext/puppetlast: removed from upstream
  * Cherry-pick updated man pages from upstream

Same error here clicking on Network in the Places menu.

Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the
message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or

CPU usage goes to 100% on one core and stays like that until I reboot.

[Bug 631740] Re: Dbus error when clicking network icon in nautilus

2010-09-06 Thread Jelmer Vernooij
Reassigning - Samba does not provide any DBus interfaces, and gvfsd-smb-
browse is part of gvfs.

While the latter uses libsmbclient (which is part of Samba) I have not
seen any indication that this would in fact be a bug in libsmbclient.
