[Bug 640121] Re: package dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6.1 failed to install/upgrade: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

2010-09-25 Thread RevEggplant
I'm encountering this problem when running apt-get upgrade.

After the package dovecot-common 1:1.2.12-1ubuntu4 has its files
replaced, I get a message stating that the ssl keys are already in
place, and then the install freezes. I have to open another term, kill
the running dpkg processes, run dpkg --configure -a to finish
configuring the packages that managed to partially install, then invoke
a separate apt-get install dovecot-imapd dovecot-common to get those to
install properly, and then rerun apt-get upgrade to finish upgrading the
remaining packages in the lot.

Running a separate apt-get install on specifically on the dovecot
packages does not duplicate the error, only running apt-get upgrade
seems to duplicate the problem.

[Bug 646468] Re: Apparmor deny when trying to use hugetlbfs

2010-09-25 Thread Jamie Strandboge
I read about how it unlinks after creation, so I think in general have just a
commented line like this in /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/libvirt-qemu is ok:
  # Uncomment the following line to enable huge pages in your guests.
  # owner /dev/hugepages/libvirt/qemu/* rw,

It would be better if libvirt could do this dynamically like it does
with disks, etc (the SELinux driver may already do this). This should be
investigated.

[Bug 647664] [NEW] Unhelpful Security labelling error with read-only floppy image

2010-09-25 Thread Dave Gilbert
Public bug reported:

I tried to add a floppy drive to a kvm/qemu image and attach it to the
/usr/lib/grub-rescue/grub-rescue-floppy.img file.

On boot of the guest I get the following box:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File /usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/engine.py, line 814, in run_domain
vm.startup()
  File /usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/domain.py, line 1296, in startup
self._backend.create()
  File /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/libvirt.py, line 333, in create
if ret == -1: raise libvirtError ('virDomainCreate() failed', dom=self)
libvirtError: internal error Process exited while reading console log output:
libvir: Security Labeling error : internal error error calling
aa_change_profile()

Since this mentions absolutely nothing about floppy permissions it's
pretty useless to a user; further more since the image is marked read
only it should be able to use that floppy.

Attaching config file.

[Bug 621509] Re: mysqld randomly causes system to not respond to commands

2010-09-25 Thread Luke J Militello
Clint, I appreciate your assistance with this but I am sorry to say that
I believe I've wasted your time.

I did some intensive digging on this and discovered that all signs point
to a hardware issue on one of the SCSI buses. MySQL appeared to be the
trigger; with the most disk writes/reads. It looks as if a hard drive
might be going south.

I receive a fatal error message when attempting to run OpenBoot tests on
the SCSI bus. Which, in retrospect, makes sense as to why occasionally
I would experience a hardware hang on reboots every now and again as
well as why a hard boot seems to be the only way to recover.

Either way, my new system will be resolving these errors.

Again, I appreciate your prompt responses and I apologize for wasting
your time.

This ticket is null and void as pertaining to mysql-5.1.
