[Bug 562370] Re: Upgrade from 2.2.14-5ubuntu6 to 2.2.14-5ubuntu7 results in syntax error, missing module
Sorry, I just found out for my self after a reboot :( It keeps the configuration files but removes symbolic links to modules and configurationfiles. I also had to battle with a new ports.conf file which got installed. It added a Listen 443 statement that blocked the Apache server from starting at all. But after commenting it out everything was back in business. -- Upgrade from 2.2.14-5ubuntu6 to 2.2.14-5ubuntu7 results in syntax error, missing module https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/562370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 653370] Re: package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3 failed to install/upgrade:
I managed to finally complete the upgrade and believe I've found where the problem was. Part of the upgrade to Lucid Lynx included upgrading MySQL 5.0 to 5.1. I was given the choice of keeping the existing my.cnf or using the default. I wanted to keep my existing configuration. However, in doing so, the skip-bdb line was left enabled in the my.cnf file. This caused mysql to fail to restart properly, and caused AppArmour to hang. When I finally figured this out, I changed the my.cnf file and did a dpkg --configure -a which fixed the configuration and MySql and AppArmour worked properly. I am not sure what the best solution for this should be. Perhaps the AppArmour configuration should abort instead of hanging. Some sort of message about the configuration of MySql being screwed up might help as well. -- package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/653370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-dfsg-5.1 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

The logs show that MySQL was being configured at the moment you cancelled the upgrade -- so this does not seem to be an apparmour issue. Re: [Bug 653950] Re: package backuppc 3.1.0-9ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I can't reproduce it because I can't put my system back the way it was before the upgrade. I suspect that it had something to do with it being unable to start backuppc because it was already running. Unless somebody else gets it as well, I would advise not spending any time looking at it. Chuck Short wrote: Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 84899] Re: SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on SSH servers are very slow
By the way, there is a line in /etc/ssh/ssh_config that reads: # GSSAPIAuthentication no and another line that reads: GSSAPIAuthentication yes Obviously someone added the GSSAPIAuthentication yes when default is no. Since commenting the line with yes fixed my problem (~10-15 sec vs. ~0-1 sec for login) I think the default should be restored. This is such an easy fix, I am amazed the problem is still around with Lucid (not that there isn't some underlying problem that isn't an easy fix).
