[Bug 104525] Re: default ntp.conf should use pool.ntp.org servers
I fully agree with comment 6 by Perry E. Metzger. Switching to ntp pool should not be a security issue as bad servers are automatically filtered from the pool. Additionally, bad servers are detected by the NTP algorithm if enough servers are selected (they are called falsetickers, see http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Support/SelectingOffsiteNTPServers#Section_5.3.3.). 4 servers should be enough for most cases. -- default ntp.conf should use pool.ntp.org servers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104525 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ntp in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 674943] [NEW] autofs5 attempts bind mounts with nfs4, but can't perform them correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: autofs5 Description:Ubuntu 10.10 autofs: Installed: 5.0.5-0ubuntu21 When using autofs5 to mount a directory exported as nfs4 from localhost, autofs5 attempts to perform a --bind mount, like it would with nfs2 or nfs3. This does not work with nfs4, as nfs4 exports from its own root. For example, I have autofs setup to serve out home directories, all of which are located in /export/home/$user . The fsid=0 directory is /export . This means that in the auto.home, the path to the user's directory is listed as /home/$user. Given this, there is not enough information in the auto.home for autofs to do a --bind mount for the local directory, and as such, an nfs4 mount should be performed instead. ** Affects: autofs5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- autofs5 attempts bind mounts with nfs4, but can't perform them correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs5 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
