[Bug 675448] [NEW] ssh does not authenticate against kerberos
Public bug reported: sshd is set up to authenticate using GSSAPI, but this never succeeds, falling back to any other configured authentication method. If all are forbidden, authentication fails without giving a useful reason. On a local(!) system assume: user test exists, krb5 is running fine, PAM is set up to use krb5. [Bug 674768] Re: wrong reference in description
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. ** Changed in: dhcp3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: dhcp3 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- wrong reference in description https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

This was one of the patches which I pulled for maverick because it had been rejected upstream. Does anyone have an idea of what fix would be needed to libSDL to prevent this? Assigning to Dustin for his input on whether we should mark this (again) as affecting SDL, put the patch in, or accept it as an unnecessary evil. ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Dustin Kirkland (kirkland) ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Status: New = Opinion -- CapsLock key events not passed to qemu-kvm https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 579596] Re: VNC console doesn't accept keyboard input during PXE boot
I imagine this is still a problem, since the only update (to the qemu- kvm or syslinux packages in lucid) since I reported this bug was to fix an iovec memory leak in qemu-kvm. I'm not sure if the problem lies in qemu-kvm or in syslinux. What it boils down to is that newer versions of qemu-kvm don't work with syslinux 3.86, but I'm not sure what the underlying problem is. Like I said, I looked through the upstream syslinux changelogs and didn't notice any obvious changes that would have fixed this. -- VNC console doesn't accept keyboard input during PXE boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 675711] [NEW] user-data scripts are run on first boot after a rebundle
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cloud-init As reported at [1], there if a instance is launched with a user data script (--user-data-file that has '#!'), then that script will persist across a rebundle *and* be run on first boot after the rebundle. That is not the desired behavior. This problem probably exists with runcmd commands also (via cloud-config syntax). For simplicity, I copied the report here: | IMHO there is still a problem. It might be a feature though that I never understood. | I start an AWS micro instance (EBS based obviously) instance with userdata: | | #!/bin/bash | date /tmp/x | | I check for the date stamp. it is there. | | then I stop the image, delete /tmp/x and create a new image of the one above. | | I run another instance based on the new AMI, but this time WITHOUT user-data. | | I check for the /tmp/x file. It is there. And it contains the new timestamp! | | So is the user-data persisted and used again when creating a new image? | Is it a bug or a feature? [Bug 648228] Re: boot ordering broken: does not try next boot device
Well, pressing 'q' indeed makes it proceed with the installation cdrom. However, it doesn't do so non-interactively. In my setup, I configure both VMs and physical machines to boot via PXE, but by default have them boot locally. Only in case they require maintenance, the PXE configuration is changed so that they are rebooted into a rescue or installation system. [Bug 589063] Re: Windows Server 2008 won't boot with more than 4 vCPUs
@Troy: are you able to boot linux guests with 6 cpus with the seabios from Nigel's ppa as well? So long as that's the case, I'll request an SRU. ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid ** Changed in: seabios (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- Windows Server 2008 won't boot with more than 4 vCPUs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589063 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 589063] Re: Windows Server 2008 won't boot with more than 4 vCPUs
Marking 'fix released' because it is fixed in maverick. The fix (from upstream, and split out by Nigel) needs to be SRUd to lucid. -- Windows Server 2008 won't boot with more than 4 vCPUs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589063 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 669739] Re: unable to setup ip-based virtual hosting due to Bugzilla 48612
James, thank _you_ for your ongoing interest and contributions. Hopefully the following informations give answer your requests (the undisclosed parts are meaningful in its original setting. If you want to make sure, without further ado I'm only allowed to provide the files to you in private.): Tomcat (tomcat6-user): tomcat6-user: Installiert: 6.0.24-2ubuntu1.4 Kandidat: 6.0.24-2ubuntu1.4 Versions-Tabelle: *** 6.0.24-2ubuntu1.4 0 Java: apt-cache policy sun-java6-jdk sun-java6-jdk: Installiert: 6.20dlj-0ubuntu1.8.04.1 Kandidat: 6.20dlj-0ubuntu1.8.04.1 Versions-Tabelle: *** 6.20dlj-0ubuntu1.8.04.1 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status virtual ip entry in /etc/network/interfaces: -- [..] up ip address add undisclosed.service.virtual.ip/22 dev eth0 [..] Changed lines in server.xml (everything else is default): --- Connector port=80 address=virtual.ip.of.service protocol=HTTP/1.1 [..] useIPVHosts=true / [..] Engine name=Catalina defaultHost=ip.of.undisclosed.service Host name=dns.entry.of.undisclosed.service appBase=webapps [..] Valve className=org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve directory=logs prefix=undisclosed_service.access suffix=.log pattern=common resolveHosts=false/ This setup works flawless with a self compiled Tomcat6. The config files of the setups are untouched copies. Conditionally: the Ubuntu-provided Tomcat works with simple JSPs -- like the introductory example in Pro Tomcat6(don't ask me why that makes a difference towards the binding...but that was my first test case) -- but as soon as I try a real webapp (webprotege from Univ. o. Stanford) the setup fails with the Ubuntu-provided Tomcat but works as expected with the compiled one. If you can't reproduce it and if you are willing to wait, I could try to setup the working setup with the Ubuntu-provided package again and make a test protocol. Just to make sure I didn't hallucinate the test case with the simple JSPs. I'm willing to help, but might not be able to answer or test daily. So any delay isn't meant to be a lack of courtesy. Re: [Bug 658095] Re: CapsLock key events not passed to qemu-kvm
Hmm, well, Anthony *screams* that this is the wrong way to solve the problem, but it does seem to fix the issue for Ubuntu users. I support carrying the patch if it's confirmed to continue solving the problem that Ubuntu users are having, and has no other detrimental effects. If these two issues are true, then I think it's a good case for a distro-specific carried patch that cannot go upstream. -- CapsLock key events not passed to qemu-kvm https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 675749] Re: qemu-kvm mouse does not work when using -vnc
I get the same result with the natty qemu-kvm version installed on maverick. However, with the current upstream version (from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-server-edgers/+archive/server-edgers-qemu-kvm) the mouse works just fine. I'll look through the delta to hopefully find the patch which fixed it. ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- qemu-kvm mouse does not work when using -vnc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/675749 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
