[Bug 833542] Re: samba 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.3 failed to upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2011-09-01 Thread Ramon Casha
I cleared away all old samba logs, then ran the command apt-get install
samba. This gave the following messages:

[Bug 833542] Re: samba 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.3 failed to upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2011-09-01 Thread Ramon Casha
I tried to go through the commands in /etc/init/nmbd.conf, and when I
tried the following lines it failed:

root@garfield:~# testparm -s --parameter-name='disable netbios'
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf

Loaded services file OK.
ERROR: both 'wins support = true' and 'wins server = server list' cannot be
set in the smb.conf file. nmbd will abort with this setting.
No

I did not modify anything in smb.conf, however one of the upgrades must
have done so - I have a file /etc/samba/smb.conf.ucf-dist which seems to
contain the settings as they were before.

I edited /etc/samba/smb.conf and set wins support = no and then re-ran
apt-get install samba and it worked.

[Bug 733553] Re: pyc files in source tarball

2011-09-01 Thread Robie Basak
I've not been able to reproduce this on 2.6.1~bzr78-0ubuntu1. I get no
.pyc files in debian/python-novaclient when building the package from
source, and I've also downloaded and extracted
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-
novaclient/2.6.1~bzr78-0ubuntu1/+build/2749319/+files/python-
novaclient_2.6.1%7Ebzr78-0ubuntu1_all.deb and found no .pyc files there.

Could this have been resolved in an earlier fix?

2011-09-01 Thread James Page
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

The error you experienced in 4. was due to the apparmor profile provided
with mysql-server. By default is will only allow access to
/var/lib/mysql so when you moved to to /srv it denied access - you can
see this in dmesg.txt:

[ 8232.324109] type=1400 audit(1314483729.470:59): apparmor=DENIED
operation=mknod parent=1 profile=/usr/sbin/mysqld
name=/srv/mysql/caes-srv-00.lower-test pid=30379 comm=mysqld
requested_mask=c denied_mask=c fsuid=0 ouid=0
[ 8232.324158] type=1400 audit(1314483729.470:60): apparmor=DENIED
operation=mknod parent=1 profile=/usr/sbin/mysqld
name=/srv/mysql/caes-srv-00.lower-test pid=30379 comm=mysqld
requested_mask=c denied_mask=c fsuid=0 ouid=0
[ 8232.326361] type=1400 audit(1314483729.470:61): apparmor=DENIED
operation=open parent=1 profile=/usr/sbin/mysqld
name=/srv/mysql/mysql/plugin.frm pid=30379 comm=mysqld requested_mask=r
denied_mask=r fsuid=1003 ouid=1003

To support this move you would need to update
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld - use the configuration for
/var/lib/mysql as a guide.

I can't tell from the attachments what failed when you tried to
uninstall mysql-server. It looks like its still installed by not
configured - please could you try removing it again and attach the
output to this bug report.

Marking importance as 'Low' as I think this is related to the move of
/var/lib/mysql and 'Incomplete' pending your response.

Thanks

[Bug 835825] Re: package bind9 1:9.7.3.dfsg-1ubuntu2.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2011-09-01 Thread James Page
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This might be an issue between resolvconf and bind9 and when they get
configured OR it might be that something else in overwriting what
resolvconf is trying todo.

Please could you try the following:

   cd /etc
   sudo ln -sf /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf

Please then try to update your system again.

Please update this bug report if this does not resolve your issue or
mark as 'Invalid' if it does.

Marking importance as 'Low' for the time being pending response.

[Bug 837482] Re: package libaio-dev (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: tentative de remplacement de « /usr/include/libaio.h », qui appartient aussi au paquet libaio:i386 0.3.104-1

2011-09-01 Thread James Page
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

I've not been able to reproduce this issue using the most recent
packages in 11.04.

I notice that you have a package called 'libaio' installed at an older
version - however its not present in the 11.04 archive.

My guess is that this older version is not multiarch enabled so is
conflicting with libaio-dev.

Please can you switch to using the libaio1 and try again -you will
probably need to remove libaio first.

Please update this bug report if this resolves your issue.

Marking importance as 'Low' and status 'Incomplete' pending your
response.

the quoting is required for commands that contain special characters
such as whitespace.

It looks like augeas is not parsing that type of command correctly.

[Bug 835625] Re: package libsasl2-2 2.1.24~rc1.dfsg1+cvs2011-05-23-4ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: libsasl2-2:i386 2.1.24~rc1.dfsg1+cvs2011-05-23-4ubuntu2 (Multi-Arch

2011-09-01 Thread Steve Langasek
This is an apt ordering bug. The amd64 version of libsasl2-2 and
libsasl2-modules must be unpacked first before trying to unpack the i386
version.

From the attachments to your bug report, it looks like this issue was
encountered because you have flashplugin-installer on your system, which
gets transitioned to an i386 package between alpha and beta, explaining
why new multiarch library packages are being pulled in.

[Bug 838410] Re: sshd template is broken

2011-09-01 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package lxc - 0.7.5-0ubuntu6

---
lxc (0.7.5-0ubuntu6) oneiric; urgency=low

  * debian/rules: use --with-rootfs-path=/usr/lib/lxc/root.  (LP: #838410)
  * debian/lxc.dirs: add usr/lib/lxc/root
  * fix-sshd-template.patch:
- templates/lxc-sshd.in: add /run/shm to list of directories to create.
  Technically /dev/shm needn't be there, as the config will overmount with
  the host's /dev.
- Don't fail if we can't create /dev/mqueue.  It'll fail anyway (because
  /dev is mounted read-only), and we don't really need it. Without this
  fix, lxc-init fails to run on ubuntu systems, as the host doesn't have
  /dev/mqueue.

[Bug 834172] Re: dnsmasq does not include domain name in hostnames

2011-09-01 Thread Andres Rodriguez
** Changed in: cobbler (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = In Progress

** Changed in: cobbler (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided = Low

** Description changed:

  After registering a bunch of systems into cobbler, dnsmasq gives out the
  correct IP, however, the hostname is not resolvable by its FQDN, only
  its hostname.

  adding a parameter such as:

  domain=canonical.com

  to /etc/cobbler/dnsmasq.template fixes this

  Dunno if this is expected behavior or if there should be a debconf
  question for this, as ensemble relies on a resolvable system name (from
  the cobbler point of view)
+
+
+
+ Additionally, cobbler should probably include in the dnsmasq.template a
+ field for the domain, but should be commented by default.

[Bug 828061] Re: cgroup-bin prevents libvirt from starting

2011-09-01 Thread Serge Hallyn
reducing priority because there is a workaround - using cgroup-lite.

The packages at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libcgroup/+bug/828061 are
fixing this problem for me.

At heart the problem was that the libvirt-cgred-wait job would, if cgred
was not already running, start it. But it's not cgred that we're
waiting on. Rather it is the pre-start for cgconfig which must finish.
So the new libvirt-cgconfig-wait job waits for cgconfig to be in state
'start'. If it takes more than 2 minutes to start, then something is
wrong, with cgtroup-bin and libvirt can go ahead and start, since what
matters for libvirt is not that cgroup-bin be running, but rather that
it not reclassify libvirt while libvirt is running.

[Bug 836277] Re: open-vm-dkms doesn't detect vmxnet and vsock properly during install

2011-09-01 Thread Nate Muench
Good, I had a feeling that it might be the kernel.

Also, I still am planning on pushing the August release (correctly this
time). There's an issue, that I might have fixed, but I'm not sure.
