[Bug 903602] [NEW] CIFS automount with nounix option create empty directories
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm trying to mount two CIFS shares from my Verbatim NAS. Because of permission problem, I need to use the nounix option when I mount them. If I do that with the command: sudo mount.cifs //X.X.X.X/media /mnt/media/ -o credentials=/etc/samba/credentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,dir_mode=0775,file_mode=0775,nounix everything works well. If I write the same command in my auto.home file: media -fstype=cifs,credentials=/etc/samba/credentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,dir_mode=0775,file_mode=0775,nounix ://192.168.1.253/media I get a media directory empty. Can you help me? [Bug 903752] [NEW] [MIR] sssd
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robbie Williamson (robbiew): 1. Availability: - in universe for some time 2. Rationale: - https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/servercloud-p-sssd-mir 3. Security: - no current CVE - five CVE reports in the past: CVE-2011-1758 The krb5_save_ccname_done function in providers/krb5/krb5_auth.c in System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) 1.5.x before 1.5.7, when automatic ticket renewal and offline authentication are configured, uses a pathname string as a password, which allows local users to bypass Kerberos authentication by listing the /tmp directory to obtain the pathname. CVE-2010-4341 The pam_parse_in_data_v2 function in src/responder/pam/pamsrv_cmd.c in the PAM responder in SSSD 1.5.0, 1.4.x, and 1.3 allows local users to cause a denial of service (infinite loop, crash, and login prevention) via a crafted packet. CVE-2010-2940 The auth_send function in providers/ldap/ldap_auth.c in System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) 1.3.0, when LDAP authentication and anonymous bind are enabled, allows remote attackers to bypass the authentication requirements of pam_authenticate via an empty password. CVE-2010-0014 System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) before 1.0.1, when the krb5 auth_provider is configured but the KDC is unreachable, allows physically proximate attackers to authenticate, via an arbitrary password, to the screen-locking program on a workstation that has any user's Kerberos ticket-granting ticket (TGT); and might allow remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via vectors involving an arbitrary password in conjunction with a valid TGT. CVE-2009-2410 The local_handler_callback function in server/responder/pam/pam_LOCAL_domain.c in sssd 0.4.1 does not properly handle blank-password accounts in the SSSD BE database, which allows context-dependent attackers to obtain access by sending the account's username, in conjunction with an arbitrary password, over an ssh connection. all got fixed by upstream in a timely manner. - ships a daemon that handles connections to LDAP, Kerberos servers - doesn't open privileged ports - binaries in /usr/sbin include sssd, sss_group{add,del,mod}, sss_user{add,del,mod} 4. We need it because nfs4.ko no longer exists, but 'mount -t nfs4' + tries to load it. + Binary package hint: autofs5 [ updated description: mount -t nfs4 server:/mnt /mnt fails through oneiric with -ENODEV from mount.nfs4 ] In lucid, using autofs5 version 5.0.4-3.1ubuntu5, we are having trouble using failover with NFS. Autofs allows you to specify multiple hosts with weighting in its configuration files and will fall back to a secondary host if the first host is not available at mount time. However, currently on our systems, the mount fails completely. This functionality does work with our RHEL 5 hosts (which use autofs 5.0.1). Automounting from a single host does work, but when we supply multiple hosts, an strace shows that it's trying to connect to the IP address '0.0.0.0', port 0, rather than any of the hosts we specify.
