[Bug 903602] [NEW] CIFS automount with nounix option create empty directories

2011-12-13 Thread scido
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I'm trying to mount two CIFS shares from my Verbatim NAS. Because of
permission problem, I need to use the nounix option when I mount them.
If I do that with the command:

sudo mount.cifs //X.X.X.X/media /mnt/media/ -o
credentials=/etc/samba/credentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,dir_mode=0775,file_mode=0775,nounix

everything works well.
If I write the same command in my auto.home file:

media
-fstype=cifs,credentials=/etc/samba/credentials,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=100,dir_mode=0775,file_mode=0775,nounix
://192.168.1.253/media

I get a media directory empty.

Can you help me?

Ubuntu Maverick 10.10

2011-12-13 Thread Martin Pitt
I linked the corresponding Debian/upstream bug, but right now the
unfortunate status quo seems to be: iodbc2 is dead, and soprano did not
work with unixodbc back then. I'm going to try and build the current
version against unixodbc and check if that's possible at all.

2011-12-13 Thread Martin Pitt
With the PPA version, i. e. the soprano build against unixodbc I get

Soprano::ODBC::ConnectionPool::ConnectionPool(const QString, const
QStringList, QObject*)

Soprano::Virtuoso::BackendPlugin::createModel(const BackendSettings) const

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make

I have been unable to reproduce this on a fresh natty image installing
vsftpd from -updates and then removing it using apt-get remove vsftpd.

It could be that there is a problem specific to your machine. Could you
please try the following command and paste the output, so that we can
see where exactly it is failing? Once done, please set the the Status
back to New. Thanks!

The update process is usually logged in
  /var/log/apt/history.log
or in
  /var/log/unattended-upgrades/unattended-upgrades.log
if you have automatic updates enabled. You might find the affected packages
there.

[Bug 903752] [NEW] [MIR] sssd

2011-12-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robbie Williamson (robbiew):

1. Availability:
 - in universe for some time

2. Rationale:

3. Security:
 - no current CVE
 - five CVE reports in the past:
 CVE-2011-1758 The krb5_save_ccname_done function in
providers/krb5/krb5_auth.c in System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) 1.5.x
before 1.5.7, when automatic ticket renewal and offline authentication are
configured, uses a pathname string as a password, which allows local users to
bypass Kerberos authentication by listing the /tmp directory to obtain the
pathname.
 CVE-2010-4341 The pam_parse_in_data_v2 function in
src/responder/pam/pamsrv_cmd.c in the PAM responder in SSSD 1.5.0, 1.4.x, and
1.3 allows local users to cause a denial of service (infinite loop, crash, and
login prevention) via a crafted packet.
CVE-2010-2940 The auth_send function in providers/ldap/ldap_auth.c in System
Security Services Daemon (SSSD) 1.3.0, when LDAP authentication and anonymous
bind are enabled, allows remote attackers to bypass the authentication
requirements of pam_authenticate via an empty password.
CVE-2010-0014 System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) before 1.0.1, when the
krb5 auth_provider is configured but the KDC is unreachable, allows physically
proximate attackers to authenticate, via an arbitrary password, to the
screen-locking program on a workstation that has any user's Kerberos
ticket-granting ticket (TGT); and might allow remote attackers to bypass
intended access restrictions via vectors involving an arbitrary password in
conjunction with a valid TGT.
 CVE-2009-2410 The local_handler_callback function in
server/responder/pam/pam_LOCAL_domain.c in sssd 0.4.1 does not properly handle
blank-password accounts in the SSSD BE database, which allows context-dependent
attackers to obtain access by sending the account's username, in conjunction
with an arbitrary password, over an ssh connection.

all got fixed by upstream in a timely manner.

 - ships a daemon that handles connections to LDAP, Kerberos servers
 - doesn't open privileged ports
 - binaries in /usr/sbin include sssd, sss_group{add,del,mod},
sss_user{add,del,mod}

4. Quality assurance:
 - current version doesn't install any working configuration, it is the plan to
add support for debconf though
check

5. UI standards:
 - not applicable

6. Dependencies:
 - ding-libs (libcollection-dev, libini-config-dev, libdhash-dev)
 - tevent (libtevent-dev)
 - ldb (libldb-dev)
 - libsemanage (libsemanage1-dev)

7. Standards compliance:
 - shipped by debian
 - lintian clean
 - uses dh, source format 3.0 (quilt)

8. Maintenance:
 - currently maintained by a team of volunteers on Debian and Ubuntu
 - shared git repository on git.debian.org

9. Background information:

[Bug 903901] [NEW] [Lucid] backport fix for ITS#6458

2011-12-13 Thread Peter Matulis
Public bug reported:

The problem:

Replication fails if an attribute of a multi-value attribute entry is
removed if the attribute does not have a equality matching rule defined
in the schema.

The problem can be mitigated temporarily by a doing a full re-sync by
removing the affected database and restarting the service to trigger a
full sync.

This is fixed upstream beginning with the slapd 2.4.25 branch:

openldap-2.4.25/CHANGES: Fixed slapd syncrepl for attributes with no
matching rule (ITS#6458)

For Ubuntu, this translates to the fix appearing in Oneiric:

slapd | 2.4.21-0ubuntu5.6 | lucid-updates
slapd | 2.4.23-6ubuntu6.1 | natty-updates
slapd | 2.4.25-1.1ubuntu4 | oneiric-updates

I am requesting the fix be backported at least to Lucid.

Following someone instructions when first installing, I must have done a

sorry.
Unless you think there should be a more detailed error message, I'm marking my

[Bug 607039] Re: NFS4 automount using replicated servers doesn't work

2011-12-13 Thread Serge Hallyn
** Also affects: module-init-tools (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Description changed:

+ module-init-tools in debian has 'alias nfs4 nfs' in
+ /etc/modprobe.d/aliases.conf. ubuntu does not have that file or that
+ line. We need it because nfs4.ko no longer exists, but 'mount -t nfs4'
+ tries to load it.
+
  Binary package hint: autofs5

  [ updated description: mount -t nfs4 server:/mnt /mnt fails through
oneiric with -ENODEV from mount.nfs4 ]

In lucid, using autofs5 version 5.0.4-3.1ubuntu5, we are having trouble
using failover with NFS. Autofs allows you to specify multiple hosts
with weighting in its configuration files and will fall back to a
secondary host if the first host is not available at mount time.
However, currently on our systems, the mount fails completely. This
functionality does work with our RHEL 5 hosts (which use autofs 5.0.1).
Automounting from a single host does work, but when we supply multiple
hosts, an strace shows that it's trying to connect to the IP address
'0.0.0.0', port 0, rather than any of the hosts we specify.

I have attached the full strace output, our /etc/auto.master file, and
the relevant file from /etc/autofs.d including the multiple hosts.

[Bug 903993] [NEW] Don't hang waiting for input from commands

2011-12-13 Thread Drew Mazurek
Public bug reported:

If a command is interactive and opens up stdin, the entire deploy will
hang. cloud-init should close stdin if anything tries to open it.
Examples of this are:

- apt-add-repository ppa:xxx/yyy

or

- apt-get install foo

(Specifically without the -y option. -y on those commands would be a
workaround for this bug.)
