[Bug 901638] Re: Remove iodbc2 (causes upgrade failure from Oneiric to Precise)
Here's a prospective patch for this issue. I'm currently discussing it with the Debian maintainers and upstream; it holds up in my testing (running the upstream 'virtuosobackendtest' test suite), so I'm reasonably confident we have a winner here. ** Changed in: soprano (Ubuntu Precise) Status: Triaged = In Progress ** Patch added: soprano-901638.patch https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/soprano/+bug/901638/+attachment/2821162/+files/soprano-901638.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to unixodbc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901638 Title: Remove iodbc2 (causes upgrade failure from Oneiric to Precise) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/soprano/+bug/901638/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 947309] Re: racoon phase 2 negotiation fails with Win Vista/7
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. racoon 0.8 is available in the current (non-LTS) release, Oneiric, and will also be in the upcoming LTS release. The suggested correction is to update racoon to version 0.8. I understand that this issue is present in the current LTS release (10.04) and thus it is desirable to get this fixed. But we do not update packages in stable releases to new upstream versions in this way, in order to keep them stable. Instead, bugfixes need to be backported. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for reasons and the details of this process. If this particular fix can be isolated then it can be fixed in an SRU (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure). So if you could supply a minimal patch that fixes the issue in the current version in Lucid, then this would help. Alternatively you can update to the current (non-LTS) release 11.10, or update to the upcoming LTS (due for release in April). ** Changed in: ipsec-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Changed in: ipsec-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ipsec-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947309 Title: racoon phase 2 negotiation fails with Win Vista/7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ipsec-tools/+bug/947309/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I've marked this as Fix Released because the current development version is 0.8 and so presumably the bug is fixed in the current development version as per the bug report. Public bug reported: The build system depends on a certain naming scheme of the rom images. The basename of the rom file (e.g. rtl8139.rom - rtl8139) must be defined in the drivers PCI_ROM or ISA_ROM makro. For the rtl8139 driver this is correctly done: PCI_ROM(0x10ec, 0x8139, rtl8139, Realtek 8139, 0) However at least the ne2k_isa and the e1000_82540 drivers are not behaving well: PCI_ROM(0x8086, 0x100E, E1000_DEV_ID_82540EM, E1000_DEV_ID_82540EM, e1000_82540), ISA_DRIVER ( ne_driver, ne_probe_addrs, ne_probe1,GENERIC_ISAPNP_VENDOR, 0x0600 ); DRIVER ( ne, nic_driver, isapnp_driver, ne_driver, ne_probe, ne_disable ); ISA_ROM(ne,NE1000/2000 and clones); The KVM roms to be build use the name of the driver's C file. This does unfortunately end in a successful build but with vendor and device id of 0 coded into the rom images. This seems to be no problem for KVM (so for ipxe it might be lower priority) but the Xen hvmloader is build in such a way that the roms from the kvm-ipxe binary package are used and then included in a way that on boot a matching rom is search by pci id of the card. This fails for e1000 because of this bug. [Bug 948320] [NEW] main.cf should not refer to localhost
Public bug reported: The postfix package distributes a main.cf configuration file that refers to localhost in at least one of the parameter settings. Instead, it should use localhost's IP address (127.0.0.1), because postfix might not be able to resolve localhost even though it is defined in /etc/hosts. I had this problem on my server, I gave up figuring out how to solve the problem, and finally edited the config file and the problem went away. I suppose it has something to do with nsswitch.conf, and whether localhost is resolved by the nameserver, etc. etc. But I could not figure out what the problem was. Nevertheless, it is a bug, since postfix' configuration ought to be independent of the particular setup of a server. Using 127.0.0.1 is bulletproof. For example: content_filter = smtp-amavis:[localhost]:10024 should be: content_filter = smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10024 ** Affects: postfix (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948320 Title: main.cf should not refer to localhost To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/948320/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 947744] Re: $ anchor doesn't work in Directory ~ regexp
I agree that if this is expected behaviour then it should be documented more clearly - specifically in the Directory section as well as the DirectoryMatch section. I'm reluctant to suggest a change in Ubuntu for this, unless the upstream Apache project who develop the software also carry the fix, because I'm not absolutely certain that I'm correct. They may say that I'm wrong, or that Ubuntu's behaviour is incorrect in this regard. If you'd like to take this further, the best place would be on the Apache HTTP Server mailing lists (http://httpd.apache.org/lists.html) or upstream bug tracker (http://httpd.apache.org/bug_report.html). They will be able to verify for certain whether this is expected behaviour or a bug. The first thing to do would be to ask them if this is expected behaviour or a bug. You should point them to this bug that you have filed here, and also comment in here to link to your report upstream. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947744 Title: $ anchor doesn't work in Directory ~ regexp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/947744/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

This is due to the container running udevadm trigger --action=add. Those events also get sent to the host, causing some hardware to be reset.
