It looks like the issue is when compiling against multiarch enabled
libraries. The initial patch in 5.2.5-0ubuntu1 only fixes x86_64, but
not the true problem.

I just cleaned everything up and tried again using your steps above (for
installing the multiverse package) and everything seems to be working
now.
I'm quite certain I did previously first remove the installed ec2 tools
and then apt-get update and reinstall, so I'm not sure what went wrong

Clint, I have already PHP 5.4 built for lucid to oneiric in my PPA and
people are already using it (I have already received some bug reports).
I think that the biggest obstacle is changed API/ABI and need to do the
transition for packages which build binary modules

Default api-paste.ini does not properly route metadata request
The reason why I ask is because I don't even see a 1.0 EC2 API doc
anywhere. It's not listed here:
http://aws.amazon.com/archives/Amazon-EC2
and the latest version isn't 1.0. All of the versions fit -mm-dd
format so 1.0 seems like it's a mistake not supposed to be in the list.

When installing puppetmaster-passenger the install will not finish
without errors. After doing some research the problem is because apache2
mod_headers is not enabled.
Output from install:
To activate the new configuration, you need to run:
service apache2 reload

contrib/network requires things like /etc/sysconfig/ (a RHism) and isn't
installed; vlan_test{,-2}.pl are test scripts and are not installed.
For the rest, the documentation currently advises using the 'vlan-raw-
